great tool kit but need to sharpen before use on wax work fast ship would buy again. thanks

I bought these to use with mortuary wax. If you look on the Pierce site, they sell a kit that contains these tools for a higher price. Especially for a student, these work just as well at an affordable price point. Easy to use, and they are true to the size estimated by the images. I’ll update if I have any issues with them breaking, but thus far they have proven worthwhile to me. The case does not feel especially sturdy, but I didn’t honestly expect it to be. It holds everything in place, that’s all I need it to do!

Gets the job done

This is an awesome kit for clay sculpting. The only issue I have is that the “explorer” tools (these are actually dental molding tools and the explorer tool is the pointed hook tool that mimics the plaque tool dentists use) are not pointed. At all. The needle-like point that it should have (as all other kits have the point and even some of these kits are known to have the point) are all blunted. I’ve had to buy separate tools ti get the job that should be done by these—one of my whole reasons for purchasing this kit was because it comes with several explorer tools.

My son does sculpting and said these tools are just what he needed and that they work great.

If you're starting out in a dental lab or getting into carving, this is a cheap little set that gets the job done.

i wasted money getting a cheaper set on here that was metal tipped pieces of wood.i should have gotten these instead. they are plenty sturdy for working detail into cold clay, & dont bend at the handle like the competitions' wooden versions.the case is awesome, its soft & keeps its shape & seams look strong.
