I have used this translator for over a year. It has helped me translate into Chinese while speaking to my Chinese fiancee. It works best if it is on a WiFi signal. The offline translation is okay but it often has issues translating or failing at translating when no WiFi signal is present. The Off-line translator voice speaks much faster than the On-Line voice. And if you are connected to a WiFi signal the off-line side of the translator works better for some reason. So, it is better to just use the WiFi side. It has a female voice in Chinese, and at times an altered voice patterns that change in tone and allow for a little comedy while using it. Single words are often a challenge for it, like many translators I have heard, but if you use it in a sentence it works better. Recently it would switch from a female voice to a male voice; and was only for a few seconds, in which laughter was a result between us instantly. I wish I could download the male voice and use it. I have considered using a SIM card for my translator, but I do not know if this would be an improvement for me. It is still working well, and I found it to be too small for my hands, while talking on my phone through WeChat. So I put one of those pop-it holders on it to avoid dropping it while holding the button during usage. If I had a choice to have it read out on the screen the Mandarin in Pin Yin instead of Chinese characters, it might serve me better and assist my learning Mandarin. But, on the other hand, if I was in China it would be good to have the Chinese characters for others to read in some situations. I like it.
