An excellent reference!
I bought this because I am autistic, and typical communications are often overwhelming and/or confusing for me. O am always looking for guides about communication and interacting with people in a respectful, appropriate way. This has been an excellent reference for when when I need to write or reply to someone about a variety of topics. Not only does this book talk about how to say certain things, it also talks about what NOT to say, along with helpful writing tips, and tips for special situations. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for good core communication tips and ideas that can help in this giant world of confusing language.

Great guide for letter writing....
This book covers everything I need to clarify and formalize my letters. A must for every library. This would also make a great graduation gift for a student.

Handy Reference it is.
I was introduced to this book years ago on a friend's recommendation. This review comes years after I have bought the book and used for several occasions. It is a good-to-have on bookshelf as you probably will need to write one or some kinds of text (like letters of resignation, congratulation, etc) ever in your life. I am still using it occasionally. While you can apply templates straight away, the author also provides some phrasal expressions for you to make your own piece of text. Recommended to those who write things as a handy reference.

Useful book. Good condition.
Am writing article on how to write thank you notes for a January issue of a senior newsletter. The book has a lot of examples. I plan to give it for wedding gifts to encourage couples to write thank you notes for gifts. Apparently, young couples are not longer required for write thank you notes for wedding gifts.

How to Say It
I first purchased this book about ten years ago and used it as a reference in a professional practice class I taught at Clemson University. I also use it a a reference for correspondence and unusual circumstances, like "wedding toasts'. The book is great! It covers almost everything. I don't copy the material, I use the structure. I usually find something that will set a spark. I am working in Beijing, China now and I purchased three copies to give as gifts to my Chinese colleagues who are often struggling for the right English Phrase. I highly recommend this book for anybody! Barry Witherspoon Director of Design Leedscape Beijing, China

Fight back with the same magic
I bought this book as i realized how much I’ve focused on technical and research work while paying far less attention to everyday "communication" skills.

I hope that 2010 was a good year for you and that 2011 will be even better. May the beauty and joys of this season stay with you throughout the year. 少し分厚く扱いにくいが、 必要に応じて参照すると有益な情報が得られる。書棚に置いておくと何かと便利な書である。
