As Action Packed As Aaything Ken Akumatsu Has Ever Done!
Written by Ken Akumatsu of Negima! fame! Actually UQ Holder is a bit related to Negima! (and like Negima! is completely action packed)! One of the main characters is Tota, who's not sure what he wants from life, but enjoys the search, and training for whatever might come his way and he's actually a (now immortal) descendant of Negi!! But whenever he gets around girls, stand-by... he's definitely in trouble! Also, a couple of Negima's main characters make a come back in UQ Holder, with one of those characters being Tota's teacher and guardian (I wonder who else might show up later?), but the story is now a bit different, and the series is really just starting!

This series is about the grandson of the Negima! series. It is not nearly as good. He is going to an elevator that lifts the passengers to Mars. He starts as the dependent of a woman ... who is exposed later in the series as a vampire leader of UQ - a vampire gang. Perhaps I give it a lower rating that it deserves since the first series (Negima!) was excellent.

Immortals Hunters
This third volume of the 'UQ Holder!' manga is another action packed instalment of this very entertaining series. Tôta, Karin and Kurômaru all get a chance to show what they are made of as they go up against the mercenary immortal hunters of Powerful Hand who have been hired to destroy the Slums. The action in this volume is very good with some very nicely drawn fight scenes and some interesting abilities brought into play. One of the highlights of the action in this volume is Kurômaru's fight as he simply refuses to give up. The volume also gives us some very interesting backstory for Karin and reveals the truth about her form of immortality. The main focus of this volume however is Tôta discovering a new power that he didn't even know about. The power in question should be very familiar to anyone who has read Negima! and the decision to give it to Tôta has annoyed some sections of the fandom but personally I find it quite an interesting development and I look forward to seeing how everything will eventually be explained (although Akamatsu is taking his time with that). The volume leaves things in a very interesting place and it is just a shame that it will be a while until volume four is released. Overall this third volume is easily worth a full five stars.

Negima 2
If you liked Negima you’ll love this. Fantastic manga so far, I love the characters, the story and the refined Akamatsu art style. Just don’t read it on a crowded train, it still has occasional fan service...
