These are brilliant! I didn't know they existed until recently. They keep fist dust out of my switches unused ports while also looking pretty slick. A perfect fit, too. Not too tight, not too loose. They're a rubber material.

Well what can I say.... They cover a hole and now dust can't get in!

What's to say? They are rubbery and fit nicely into the RJ-45 jacks. Several wall-mounted switches hang vertically via a 19" wall hanger with drop ceiling overheads. I wanted a convenient way to keep dust and dirt out of the ports. Other staff occasionally do maintenance on the overheads; I wanted a way to dust off the crumbs left behind without worrying about debris in the ports. If you, too, find yourself vertically hanging 19" rack-mount equipment, a little protection is a must. It also helps make the installations look a bit more professional.

A little on the small side so there is a danger of pushing them all the way into the rj45 jack

Yeah I wished they had nice little handles that make them easier to remove like some of the much higher-priced brands, but these do fit perfectly and there is a little nub that you can grab with fingernails and remove it if need be.

No more dust in your unused rj-45 ports.

Once you put the plug in, you’ll need a pair of needle nose pliers to get it back out. It feels like stuffing a small marshmallow into the port! Not cool

Good for plugging empty ethernet sockets to keep the dust out.
