Can I dispose just the dirty side every couple days without throwing away the plastic spindle?** A: We bought one roll and empty it every other day or so. We’ve never thrown the plastic rod away; instead, we create our own rolls using charcoal pee pads from Amazon. Flip them all face-side down and tape them. Take less than five minutes and saves you lots of money/smell! **Q: Does the machine come with any pads?** A: Yes, the machine comes with 1 roll. **Q: What if the power goes out? Is there a backup power option?** A: If the power goes out the machine will restart when power resumes.
