For Kids? I guess I'm a Big Kid!
I love this Bible. I would give it 6 stars if I could! Our church has been encouraging people to read through the Bible in a year, and I found this one. Its great for kids and adults. It has readings from the Bible for every day along with discussion questions. PLEASE NOTE! This Bible does not contain the whole Bible, it shortens various sections like the begats (so and so begat so and so) and the laws of Leviticus into shorter daily readings. If you are looking for a Bible to debate doctrine with your door knocking neighbors, this is NOT the right one. If you are looking for a simple way to encourage daily Bible reading and devotion time for kids, (and big kids) this Bible can help get them started and help people to know who Jesus in. It is perfect for family devotions for parents introducing their children to daily Bible reading. One of the seniors (about 85 years old) in our church told me she hasn't missed a day of her Bible readings yet. I love it and I believe you will too!

An Excellent Read For Adults Too
I am an adult and I love this book. It's a very easy read. I have tried reading the 365 bible and never make through the whole year. This book is so interesting, I have to force myself to put it down and not read ahead to the next day. I recently started going to church regularly and learning just how powerful the love of God is. I know the title says for kids, but it's an awesome book for adults of any age group and a great way to get through the bible. You read something from every book in the bible from Genesis to Revelations. It's written in the new living translations version, so it's written in a language that's very easy to understand and follow. There's no pictures, but there's a different passage from the bible at the end of every day's read. It's really like reading a continuous story and each day you pick up where you left off. A very interesting book, it really is. I have learned so much about God's word. All in all, this is a great book for anybody who wants to read the entire bible. I highly recommend it.

Understandable
I just recently finished my own one year challenge reading the Bible & was looking for a simpler version to read with my 10 yr. old when I found this book. I was especially wondering how they would present some of the heavy-duty topics found in the Old Testament. This book does a wonderful job (so far) of focusing on the important messages without getting bogged down in all the stuff that would turn off a kid. To be sure, it doesn't have every chapter and verse, but it has the basics and is written in a style that is short, to the point, and in such a way that it keeps the attention of the reader and leaves them wondering "what will happen next?". Each reading is prefaced with an introduction and also a short summary to review the lesson of the reading. We read this together each night & talk about the lesson of the reading and how it might apply to something my child has experienced. His words probably say it best: "finally, church stuff that I can understand"!

Great Devotional for Kids
My 9 year old and I read this together each night. It is easy for him to understand and there are some activities for students to do as well. It would be easy for someone 9-12 to read on their own, but it makes for a great devotional to do together as well.

NOT the complete Bible but good selections
I bought this thinking it was identical to the normal One Year Bible but with kid questions/focus thoughts thrown it. It isn't. This is only a SELECTION of Bible stories/passages. It hits on almost if not every major story in the Bible as well as key verses. At first I was pretty uneasy about the editors choosing which passages they deemed important but as I read it more I realized that what they edited out was exactly what I would edit out to my 5 year old daughter. She does not want to sit through the list of genealogies in the story of Abraham so I would have skipped right to where the story begins. This Bible does that for me already. The downside, of course, is if you wanted to look up a particular passage it might not be there. For example, I wanted to read her the resurrection story out of one of the passages of a particular gospel. This Bible only had one story of the resurrection included and it wasn't the one I wanted to read. One really nice thing about the passage selections is they are very short. It only takes about 2-3 minutes to read each selection for a particular day. Included at the end of each selection/story is a key question essential to Christianity. More than half the times the questions are about salvation and the other half they are about moral issues or other issues essential to the Christian life. The "answer" to the questions is in the form of a quoted verse. So if you are looking for a story book type Bible that actually has the Word directly this is a great choice for your child. If you want the complete Bible though, this would not be the choice for you.

My kids are learning a new habit with this Bible.
We love this Bible. My kids have been faithfully staying on top of their BIble reading, for the most part. When they get a little behind, they can easily catch up because of the short readings. The devotions are very nicely done! They give a little food for thought, without adding anything to God's Word or talking about weird spirituality. They are more like thoughtful questions or comments that draw out the passage a bit. This Bible includes a LOT of Scripture but leaves out the things you wouldn't necessarily want your kids reading about.

Challenge Bible is Awesome!!!
This is the third Bible with a reading plan I have selected for my daughter and I finally got it right!! This Bible is broken down by date so she can pick up her Bible on November 15th and know what she is meant to read. If she misses a few days or a week she can go back and work the extra days in or skip them until she has more time. It is great!!!She has a special notebook where she writes down the challenge question and date then does the reading and then answers the question. She uses the comments at the bottom of each reading to reinforce her answer/interpretation is inline with what the reading was meant to portray. It helps her feel accomplished and involved in her own study. This is the Bible if you have an eight year old who loves to read and interact with her books!!!

Great Bible!
Got this for my son. It is a good bible because it includes all the important things, whilst missing out things which children wouldn't be able to understand. Arrived in good condition and on time.

I love the pace at which the reading plan is going ...
I am working through the bible in a year with a committed group of kids. We are using this book as our basis and one month in, they are all really excited. I love the pace at which the reading plan is going at and am so far enjoying it on a personal level too despite being a grown up!

Not the whole Bible
My daughter wanted to read the whole Bible. It is not clear that these are reading from the Bible but is by no means the whole Bible. It’s about 1/3 of the Bible.Having said that, if that’s what you want it’s done really well in a way that will be really encouraging to get a Bible overview.
