I believe they missed at least a couple of sentences on the install instructions that could have made things a lot more clear. One thing they under-worded is that 7 inch piece of cardboard. Use of that isn't clear and it isn't clear about exactly which vehicles need that template. The instructions and picture are vague.It's a blank piece of cardboard so it really helps in no way.My ram has 3 indented marks from the factory, apparently for installing a Ram brand bed extender. Those are in the right location for this install. That 7 inch cardboard would have had me drilling the 3 holes per side way too low.In addition, I have a 2022 ram 2500 with factory tonneau cover. When this extender is flipped inward, you absolutely cannot engage the rear flip, lock handles for the tonneau cover.You will need to mark the black handles for the tonneau locks and cut them so they will clear the uppermost tube of the extender when its in the flipped- inward position. I didn't see that notated anywhere or in other reviews.Overall, I think it's a good product and I'm glad that I installed it. The tonneau cover does not hit the extender when the extender is flipped inward.I think that it probably costs at least twice the amount that it should. There's really only so much you're getting for several hundred dollars.Also, when it's flipped outward, such as when the tailgate is down, it comes with small buckles that are supposed to engage into the tailgate lock catches. It's a good concept but it's a real pain to get them locked into there without scratching the paint of the tailgate in that area.

Bought this to install on my F350. Arrived ahead of time, and initial setup was fast and easy. Looking at the instructions I noticed there was an optional no drill kit. I ordered it and waited for it's arrival. When the no drill kit arrived I looked through the instructions, and notice 6 bolts to attach the universal mounting bracket to the braces. I looked through all of the parts provided. The no drill kit included 6 M5 nuts, but no screws. The installation kit for the bed extender didn't have the bolts either. Ran to the hardware store and picked up six 8-24x1/2" button head bolts, and nylock nuts because they didn't have the button head bolts in metric. Would have been nice to know this beforehand.

Installed in 2017 Ram with bed liner and Extang 2.0 Solid cover. Used tin snips to cut out a small bit of bed liner but could have installed straight through. Dremel type tool would work well here if you want a cleaner look.Follow directions and the extender build is fairly easy. Rams have the drill points prestamped, so no need for cardboard templates provided. Just 6 holes and the brackets go right on.Fits great with hard cover. Adjust the handles for the cover to drop down between the extender and the edge of the bed and there is more than enough room to latchdown the cover for use.Also, super easy to remove the extender if needed. Cool feature that the straps they provide you with actually lock into the tailgate latch. Just lift the tailgate handle to disengage them.Should have no issue transferring this to a newer truck in the future.

For my RAM 1500 with the 76" bed, the bed extender makes it very easy to load up 4x8 sheets of plywood and 8' boards. I just had to be careful to put 1x2's at an angle so they don't go out between the bars.When I am not carrying long stuff, the AMP just stays flipped over, and makes it easy to just throw stuff in the back of the truck. Today I put a new wheeled barbeque in, and it fit just right. 2 shock cords, and all I had to do was take it for a nice drive in the country, no rolling...What would I do different if I were AMP? I would put the bars closer to reduce the risk that 2x4's or fence poles would slide out.

I bought this for my 2017 Nissisn Titan XD without the rail tie downs. It works great and keep my items at the back where they are easy to get.I would buy this again for another truck and recommend it for anyone looking.

I don't know why I haven't gotten one of these before. I have a Ram short bed with a Line-X bed liner. There were dimples where the factory holes were, so I had my brother help me drill it - too easy. Used self-tapping screws. Just make sure you check and see if you have rails on your bed cover, if you do then AMP sells the spacers that I had to use, which turned it from a nightmare only able to use it one way to a fully functional cargo storage.

Overall this product is dope. Especially if you opt for the quick release brackets. Turns my 8' bed into about a 9 1/2' bed. My only dislike with it, (To be fair I do a lot of dump runs where I'm overloading my truck), is the plastic pieces that hold the metal frame together has about 6 bolts (2 for each frame). I don't know when this happened, never heard any slamming while driving, or anything. At some point it got hit by something and a few of those bolts ripped right through the plastic threads. Its making the two plastic pieces have a few mm gap now. Why would a manufacturer make something for a work truck like this and not reinforce the threads with metal, like really? This would've never been a problem if it had been reinforced properly. You can definitely jerryrig it by drilling through both pieces and using a longer bolt and putting a nut on the other side of it. But than you have an exposed nut and doesn't look as good. If this was under $100 I wouldn't be complaining but for the price it should've been reinforced.

Excellent product easy to install and fast shipping. My one issue which I guess no one else has come across was the fact that I have a retractable tonneau cover which if you mount the bed extender to the bed walls will prevent you from being able to swivel the unit or in my case even put it in. I remedied this by installing 2in brackets on both sides and the fact that the width is adjustable made that possible! Very happy with purchase.. took 15mins to install once I had the brackets

I have used this Bedxtender many times and come in very handy when you need that extra space. well worth the price. Nice to be able to drive with the tailgate down and knowing your items are secure. When not in use it comes off in seconds.
