Five Roses: A Guide to Good Cooking (Classic Canadian Cookbook Series)

My mom had this book when i was small. Just had to get a copy to pass on. Lots of wonderful recepies

I had one of these as an 18 year old. Loved the recipes so delighted to find one to pass on to my kids. Especially the Yorkshire pudding recipe.

This cookbook has many great recipes. The deluxe apple pie is amazing - so delicious!!

I have the original five roses cook book but it has seen better days from lots of use. A lot of my Favorite pages are now loose in the book as they tore off. So I wanted to replace it. I found that the new book does not have all the recipes, the ones that I loved of course. I wish I could get the exact book. So, I would rate it 3 1/2 stars because of this

I remembered my mom using this cookbook.....especially for cakes and I started using it for cookies. I learned general cooking terms from the cookbook. Then I misplaced it after my mom passed away. I had been looking for a copy just like the original for quite some time so I was ecstatic finding it on Amazon. It was also in good condition for a used item. My Christmas puddings and cakes will be made using the recipes in the cookbook.

Hard to find. Great recipes throughout book. Hard to find 3. 1 for daughter and each grandaughter but got them. Been my best cookbook for over 50 years. New edition uses metric. Every recipe works and is correct. Highly recommend this old cookbook.

My mother used the Five Roses cookbook when I was a child and I don't think she ever replaced it.The pages were covered in splatters from our attempts to bake, preserve and cook. She actually adapted many of the recipes to use in her small bake shop that she had for a lot of years. I still have that book but now many of the pages are missing and the ones that are there are hard to read. It was no decision at all to replace that book for my own children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. I know it will become a family heirloom for them and anyone that uses it!

This is exactly what I wanted. I have the original, but was so worried, about breaking the pages, as it is so old, But with this, Now I can use it everyday! Thank you for such the quick shipping and great shape this is in.

SImply written, straight to the point, great easy to make recipes. Love it!

A very good book :-)

I have had one since 1968 but it was worse for wear as I used it constantly. It is a fantastic cookbook that I still use! Try the butter tarts, they are the best ever recipe. The milk makes the difference!I bought two for myself, one for my sister and one for a friend who is just learning to cook.EVERY kitchen needs this cookbook! It is easy and straight forward.Buy one, you will not be disappointed!

Love the recipes in this book,but don’t like that I don’t have a book stand for easy reading.
