USB 3.0 to SATA 3.0 Hard Drive Adapter Cable Converter for 2.5" SSD/HDD

Put simply, this cable works! Great value for money. I purchased this cable to upgrade an old laptops hard drive from optical to SSD. I had previously purchased a different brand, from elsewhere, and paid considerably more, only to find that it didn't work at all, so a complete waste of money and time! This cable is much better value, the quality is fine, it arrived quickly and works perfectly! The laptop I used this on is approximately 10 years old and this cable draws enough power from a single USB port to function. It is a USB 3.0 cable, but is backwards compatible, so works without issue on a USB 2.0 computer. The cable is quite short, which wasn't an issue for me at all, but worth a mention.

I needed to access some files on an old hdd and didn't want to take my laptop apart to put the drive in and my friend told me about this type of connection. After reading several reviews on other connectors I decided this one to be the best one regarding reviews and looks and it was well worth it as it worked more than perfect and this is a fantastic connection lead. I bought a few of these to experiment with a USB3.0 ZFS drive array using laptop drives. They're small, neat and seem to just work. The only improvement I can think of would be to have a connector for external power so they could work with 3.5" SATA too (which is why I dropped them a * - I demand perfection for a perfect score).

Doesn't work. Nothing more to say really. It looks cheap, doesnt feel well made and struggles to fit into the drives due to poor tolerance of the plastic. Tested with 6 drives, all known working. Thought it would make a useful addition to my drawer as I find myself copying from one to another and figured two external options would be beneficial to one. Ended up being an addition to my wheelie bin because at this price it isn't worth the effort needed to return - no doubt a calculation made by the seller. Don't buy this, buy something else.

Bought this for a single use: to clone my C drive and upgrade my pc It worked well I was surprised to find it has 2 LED’s on the side of the sata plug showing power and data transmissions There are other products out costing much more but why pay a fortune when this did the job

It has actually solved my problem with my SSD as my laptop was not able to recognise! With this cable I managed finally do see what the problem was

When used with Samsung SSD 850 Pro 512Gb, Samsung Magician does not report correctly (e.g. firmware). Windows 10 reports it as a Samsung SSD 850 Pro 512G SCSI disk. Using my other cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N2JIQR7/ref=psdc_430470031_t1_B07BGXW6C8 Samsung Magician works correctly and Windows 10 reports it as Samsung SSD 850 Pro SCSI disk, which Samsung Magician seems happy with. Otherwise seems to work at the basic level.

Does the job well and feels very good quality

My Dell Laptop self-destructed it's motherboard and would no longer boot. I removed the HDD and used this cable to retrieve all my data without needing to resort to "hope and prayer" that the Windows Backups would actually restore. Worth its weight in gold!

I was able to use the adapter to update 2014 Macbook Pro HDD to SSD. This adapter made the update simple and quick. Also could potentially use this adapter as a more permanent solution of an external SSD; but I think that the quality of the adapter may not allow it to stand the test of time. That's just a hunch though. Overall a great product for the price and the temporary purposes I have used it for.

I previously ordered the cable which was from pibox and unfortunately that had issue of getting disconnected automatically, hence replaced . Then the replacement product was working fine but as USB 2.0 . I was getting transfer speed around 30-35 MBPS , hence returned again . After all these struggles thought to try this one and this is absolutely excellent product as of now . Gets connected as USB 3.0 and gives around 90-105 MBPS (max speed of my hdd) transfer speed :)
