This book is about PLAY!
It is about playing a game worth playing and goals worth playing for. I revisit the book at least quarterly. When I read Maria's definition of a goal as an object or event toward which play is directed in order to score I was convicted of losing play! Play exists on the court where the action is possible. The scoreboard is in the stands where the observers giving accounts live. No action in the stand makes any difference on the court. I have a tendency to collapse the goal with the score-removing play in the process and ultimately being in the stands. This book has made the trek back to the court for me as simple as seeing how to play at that moment. Buy it, use it, and have a luminous life.

An amazing book
Many of my good intentions never got off the ground because I didn't know how to launch them into physical reality. This book is showing me step by step how to go about doing this without wasting a lot of energy in the process. It also points out the pitfalls of old, self-defeating patterns which tend to interfere with achieving my goals. I have been able to put this information into practice and I'm achieving some significant results. This book really delivers what it promises to do. It's helping me to master life's energies in the most efficient ways possible.

Excellent! Sublime! Practical !
I interviewed Dr. Nemeth many years ago for an article I was writing about spirituality and money. Now, years later, I've come upon "Mastering Life's Energies." I tend to eschew "self-help" books but this is no self-help book. Well, yes, it can help the self. But I would say it challenges the old, limited self to grow into something much deeper and much more meaningful and yes, luminous. I appreciate especially the comments on ontology -- we name the specifics of our ground-of-being (via our life intentions and standards of integrity) and these become our guiding lamp-posts toward living a life of meaning. (I'd say we need such an Ontological Revolution in these challenging times we live in!) Nemeth integrates metaphors from the new sciences and brain research to support how we may re-conceptualize the meaning of what it means to be fully alive each day. Get the book. Read it!

Living life with ease and grace
I'm an accomplished achiever, a doer, a person who loves to learn and grow and take on challenges. However, what has eluded me is a deep sense of satisfaction and joy. Somehow I was too quickly onto the next challenge, the next goal. Then I found Maria Nemeth's book, Mastering Life's Energies. Gentle. Simple. Clear. Not easy, but filled with ease. Focused. Disciplined. Humorous. Step by step, Maria points the way--with wonderful stories, with useful exercises, with compassionate discernment. How can a book change a life? This one changed mine! This book begs to be discussed in a group! Mastering Life's Energies: Simple Steps to a Luminous Life at Work and Play The Energy of Money: A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment

Understanding the energy behind acheivements
There are plenty of books on manifesting and goal setting, but I appreciated this author's take on defining goals. The emphasis on positive and active framing appealed to m linguistic nature. I've read several books in the area and have been disappointed with many as there is only so much that can be said on the same topic. This book provided some fresh takes, so it was worth the read in my opinion.

Practical Advice
This second book from Maria Nemeth is more practical advice rather than rah-rah motivational encouragement. Where Tony Robbins and Brian Tracy and Jim Rohn may motivate and talk about the qiualities one needs to excell in their life, Master Life's Energies speaks to the practical steps you can take. This book outlines a mental process that anyone can apply and get lasting results. It is not psychobabble or analysis. It is more a guide to acknowledge what your 'blocks' are, to expect them and then take action depsite those 'blocks'. The title can be off putting if you are wary of the etherial and "new age-like blather in this field but don't let that throw you off. There's meat here. Read it, take the steps outlined and see lasting results.

Deep and Simple
It takes some concentration to follow the theories taught in this book. But the outcome is one of hopeful joy if you follow along carefully. It is more than the power of positive thinking, although it does take some positive thinking to put the ideas in action. The importance of taking action is what sets this book apart from others I have read. I will be reading this book over and over while I put its wisdom into practice in my life.

Fizzing with energy
Maria Nemeth has distilled many ideas into this inspirational book and put her own personality into it. She is wise and funny and very high octane - great fun to read but not superficial and she gives many practical suggestions that you can try to improve the way you live and view your world. I attended one of her workshops when she came to UK a few years ago and have never forgotten it and still refer to my workbook even now. One of her starting questions is, "Would it be OK with you if life got easier?" She has a professional background as a psychotherapist but has moved away from analysis and into action - as so many are now doing.
