Beautiful book. See below for what it includes.
It arrived quickly, in excellent condition. It is nicely bound, and though it is quite a tome, in fits nicely in the hand. It is about 7.5 inches by 5, and somewhat under 5 inches in thickness. The font is clear and easy to read, and not too small in my opinion, and the paper is of good quality and not too thin.As for contents, it has all the books of a Protestant Old Testament (some under slightly different names, and in a somewhat different order), and in addition:1 Esdras (sometimes known as 3 Esdras, I believe, if Ezra and Nehemiah, here together called 2 Esdras, are called 1 and 2 Esdras respectively)JudithTobit4 books of MaccabeesThe Book of Odes (including the Prayer of Manasseh)The Wisdom of SolomonThe Wisdom of (Ben) Sirach (aka Ecclesiasticus)The Psalms of SolomonBaruchThe Letter of JeremiahSusannaBel and the DragonAlso note that the Book of Esther is of course the longer version, and that the Book of Daniel includes the prayer of Azariah and the Song of the Three Children (or youths). The Book of Psalms includes Psalm 151.The Book of Odes can't have been part of the original Septuagint, because it includes the Magnificat and other excerpts from the New Testament, but it is nice to have, and presumably is part of the Septuagint manuscripts we now have, included because of its importance in the worship of the Greek Orthodox Church.Note that this book does NOT include the New Testament; it is the Septuagint, which (apart from the addition of the Book of Odes which is mostly excerpted poems from both Old and New Testaments) was written before the New Testament, being mostly a translation into Koine Greek of the Hebrew Bible (as we now know it) and some other books. If you want a Greek New Testament, you will have to buy that separately.Note also that it does not include the Apocalypse of Esdras (sometimes known as 2 Esdras or as 4 Esdras), which so far as I know no longer exists in old Greek. It also does not include the Book of Enoch, or various other books that you could find in the canon of the Ethiopian Church, but which were never part of the Septuagint. It does however contain quite a bit more material than even a Roman Catholic Old Testament (3 and 4 Maccabees, and the Psalms of Solomon, for example).A beautiful book to have. I’m very happy to possess it, and am already enjoying studying it. It is a very important book (or collection of books) in the history of the Christian Church.

Septuaginta (Rahlfs)
It took a week or two to arrive, but it was worth it. The book was in perfect condition. It is bound with a sturdy cover at looks well and the spine is sturdy yet the book opens well. The pages have a very elegant weight to them and the type is clear and flattering. This is a truly beautiful edition and it is both a privilege and a pleasure to read.
