An attractive book, but reads too much like an advertisement!
I don't quite know what to make of this book. It's a slick-looking production, with nice color photos, including several of the author, who seems to be branding herself as the Martha Stewart of natural foods. The oddest thing about this book is that it almost reads like an advertisement. The author makes constant reference to something called "Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss," a coconut-based, dairy-free ice cream substitute. The author stubbornly refers to it as ice cream, but until coconuts grow udders and start going "moo," it'll still be ice cream substitute to me.Anyway, the author swears by this Coconut Bliss stuff. She doesn't approve of dairy products (and there's a solid rationale for that - a real milkshake is a dietary disaster), but she also doesn't approve of wheat, meat, sugar, alcohol, or Mother Goose. Okay, I made up that bit about Mother Goose. Oh, she also has a thing about soy milk. I think it's great stuff and have enjoyed soy-milk based ice cream substitutes for years, but to hear the author tell it, soy is harmful, if not downright poisonous. If you get the impression that there's a whole lot of "don't" in this book, you're absolutely right. I found it pretty off-putting.After a lot of product promotion, and several chapters about nut milks, superfoods, and bacteria, and then a recipe for something really disgusting called "rejuvelac," we finally get to the recipes. Most of these struck me as fairly appealing, although in my view they are really recipes for smoothies - especially when you consider that none of them contains ice cream (or any dairy products whatsoever). I'm not trying to be a nitpicker here, but isn't it a stretch to call these "milkshakes?" Yeah, it is.I also found it annoying that each recipe calls for that Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss stuff. It may be a very good product, but I almost got the impression that the author has a financial interest in the company. If she doesn't she really should, considering all the shilling she's doing for them. Personally, I'd much rather prepare these recipes using a soy-milk ice cream substitute in place of the coconut stuff, even though the author seems to think that I'll grow a tail if I do.All in all, I'd say that if I hadn't downloaded this as a freebie, I'd probably return it for a refund. The author is pretty, but her health claims seem a bit loony-balloony, and all that constant promotion is really a drag. For those who worship at the church of the sacred coconut tree, however, this might be a pretty good book.

Naked Bliss! An Appropriate Name
This is my favorite smoothie cookbook! I have made several of the recipes and they are REALLY delicious and incredibly simple! If you enjoy having healthy yummy smoothie recipes at the tip of your fingers, this book is a find. All the ingredients were easy for me to locate at my local health food store and can keep in the freezer or pantry. Honestly, I believe these smoothies deserve a Michelin star in flavor! Wish I could open a smoothie store in every city, they are truly a treat, easy to make and I know they would sell! No kidding.

Coconut Ice Cream Recipes -- Every Single One
Every single recipe in the book calls for a coconut ice cream base by the same company. This is not a recipe book at all. It really seems like a book the coconut ice cream owners paid to have made to promote their product. No variety, lack of imagination. I'm surprised I'm the first person to review this book unfavorably. I can't understand how a book of coconut milkshake after coconut milkshake can be so satisfying for the six people who reviewed before me. I honestly think you'd do better looking for dairy-free recipes online.

Book Clearly for Profit
I should have done my homework. These recipes are to promote the sale of a certain product. The product is in EVERY recipe. I feel cheated, it will go straight to the goodwill.

Nice principle in general
Nice principle in general, but a lot of key ingredients can only be found in the US, not in Europe.. therefore, not very useful.
