I currently use the Kramer guitar I got with Guitar Hero 3, and it works a treat on Rock Band.Most of the songs on here are very well known, which is a relief if you're really not a big rocker, like myself. I really enjoyed playing Nirvana's In Bloom, The Killers anthem When You Were Young and The Beastie Boys' Sabotage, which is still one of my favourite crossover tracks.The gameplay is a bit simple in easy mode though, and with my dexterity I find medium a bit tricky (finding it hard to reach for the blue and orange keys) - so I managed to complete Rock Band in around an hour in easy mode, getting mainly 97% and not having to replay a single track. I didn't mind that, but I think it could have been trickier like Guitar Hero, it took some time to complete in easy mode.The graphics are better than GH in my opinion, but I did notice the videos were a bit spotty, this doesn't affect the bar which shows you how to play the song though, so I'm certain it's not my equipment causing it. I do think it looks great on the PS2 though.This is a good game, with 61 tracks (half you have to unlock) available and varied with non-English speaking tracks this makes it a good alternative to Rock Band. Just wish it was harder in easy mode, I guess I will just have to practice more in medium to get used to the other keys.Worth getting. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Too easy, but it's still good fun *by J***P on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 30 October 2008* I've played the Guitar Hero games and the balance of skill level and enjoyability in those games is perfect.Rock Band on either bass or lead guitar is a lot easier than Guitar Hero [any of them], as I got through the entire song list in Hard without failing a single song. In the Guitar Hero games, Hard really does mean Hard; and Expert means impossible unless you really learn the song.As for the drums, Medium feels as it should - I can easily fail a few songs on Medium first time, so they've gotten the skill level just right. And Hard is as it should be. I'm awful on vocals, so I can't really judge that LOL.But Rock Band is, of course, a very playable game - but I find it far more boring than the Guitar Hero games because of how easy it is on guitar. However, on multi-player mode, it becomes far more enjoyable - especially if you can find friends who prefer the instruments that you don't want to play.I give an overall rating of 3 stars because, inevitably, I find myself going back to the Guitar Hero series; except for when my friends come over for a jam on Rock Star. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rock Band - wow *by D***I on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 4 February 2009* Saw guitar hero advertised, but a little pricey so went for Rockband for ps2 instead. I have 2 children (12&14) and didn't know what to get them for christmas, so thought this would be a fun family game - and guess what? It is brilliant. Got it out pre-christmas to check if it was working properly and we were on it for 2 1/2 hrs! Kids wanted more but I had to wrap it up. You can have solo, two, three or four players. ( you would need to buy an extra instrument) as Rockband comes with microphone, drums and 1 guitar. Don't know many of the songs but you quickly learn them and you can unlock other songs.
