For such a compact volume this book pack a lot of punch. This would be an excellent work to read by way of introduction to the topic of chinese 'classical' furniture. It covers all aspects of what classical furniture is and perhaps more importantly, what it is not, while providing basic guidelines of how to evaluate and navigate the bewildering maze of terminology which are often based more in the values of the sale room than in actual scholarship. It is a very good foundational text one which one can build a solid knowledge base. Highly recommended.
