WichardShackle Key With Bottle Opener

Amazingly simple and very useful
My crew mates know I carry this with me all the time and constantly ask to borrow it because they agree it's the best thing to open shackles and beer bottles, what other tool you really need to carry with you at all times? It's very random that you really need a screw driver, a spike or a knife on deck, so I leave all those in my bag and only bring this one with a lanyard (its quite slippery and the sea loves it too). No moving parts means nothing malfunctions.

Awesome tool!
Now this thing is awesome. Fits in the hand well and does everything from the small stuff to some decent sized shackles. Made to last and to use. Must have!

Best EDC without a blade
Basic modern life requires the ability to open a capped bottle and lift a pull ring or soda can tab. The Wichard shackle key lifts a bottle cap on one stroke. Other tools of similar size or smaller work by picking the crimped edges of the cap. Some knives have a reckless construction that requires the blade to be open to use it so you can have a "hold my beer" moment while opening a beer with a knife. The exception is the Glock 81 field knife with root saw -- the best cap lifter due to leverage from the blade. The Wichard shackle key is relatively smooth and does not catch on seams when pulled from a watch pocket. It has good leverage for lifting a bottle cap and the narrow end is a good assist on soda can tabs. The shackle key works on a range of shackle sizes and provides a secure handle for bottle cap lifting.
