SURVIVALIST BACKPACKING TENT are your best choice. Every ounce matters when you are trekking long distances. One way to reduce weight is to choose multi-purpose gear, such as tents that use your trekking poles for pitching instead of tent poles. It is fully seam tapped and waterproof and will hold up well against bad weather.SURVIVALIST BACKPACKING TENT really sets the rainfly & tent apart is that it has a very large vestibule. Yes, that does mean it adds weight – but it also means you can keep your pack dry and leave your stinky boots outside. Review: Drips on the toggles. - Mind you I went in to buying this tent for just a day hiking, and understood it is a $55 dollar tent. Before I go out I want to test it out in a harsh condition. Hurricane Berry is hitting the coast, and pushing storms up north. I live in Kentucky so took this as a sign to test it. I set the cover up alone leaving the bug net in my pack, and left a drop cloth down. After several hours of hard almost sideways rain it looked like it held up. After getting in to see the dryness overall it was okay. All four of the outside shell toggles leak. So you know when buying this that you should get a 5 dollar tube of seam sealer just for the toggles. Ill probably do all the seams just to be safe, but overall more than I expected from a 55 dollar tent.
