Hit or miss
I've bought at least 15 of these over the last 10 years (mostly from Home Depot until they quit carrying this). They are supposed to have a life time warranty. I have used these exclusively on one door. The ones that do work, I am happy to get 8 months to 1 year. However, about one half of them either don't work at the beginning (latch gets stuck and doesn't close) or the spring breaks within a few months.

works great to keep the door closed
this works good to keep the wooden patio door closed, but the bad is the spring kept falling off and I had to replace the latch as the spring needs to be a little more curved on the end to stay on he hook..

Made it easy to open and close the attic door.
Bought this to hold the attic door in the garage closed, bought 2 thinking it would be enough, but had to buy 2 more to keep it closed. Not as strong as I needed. Other than that, like it.

What we needed
It is what we needed for a door on our camper trailer that never seems to stay closed during travel.It is a bot tricky to install , though once in it is great!
