Gave it to my friend Janet (who says she's never seen a book with her name in the story) to read to her grandnieces. They were just as delighted as my granddaughter was when she received it many years ago. Sweet story with beautiful illustrations. Can' remember how old my granddaughter was when I gave it to her - maybe 8 or 9 - and she's an advanced reader, but she had no trouble reading the story,

I purchased this book because my children and I love the other Rosemary Wells book series "Yoko" as well as "Max and Ruby." There is something really special about her books and we always enjoy the artwork as well as the stories. This book has three different stories inside, First Tomato, Moss Pillows, and The Island Light. Each story is about a bunny child who had been having a hard day. The Bunny Queen, Janet, takes them to the Bunny Planet to show them the day that should have been. These are stories that resonate not only with children, but also adults. We've all had awful days and know how overwhelming those big feelings can be. This book teaches children that those kind of days are part of life but that we can always find something to bring us comfort and help us navigate those feelings.

"Voyage to the Bunny Planet" is my all-time favorite trio of books for young children. This is a series of 3 stories about bunny children who are having a lousy day. The Bunny Planet is like an idyllic Twilight Zone, where the children visit their perfect day. Travel to the Bunny Planet is indicated by a transformation of the narrative from prose to rhyme as they are carried off by Janet, the Grandmotherly Bunny Queen. Each story contains a repeating refrain that children quickly learn and recite along with the reader, and a theme that the Bunny Planet is always available. This set of stories makes a wonderful introduction for conversations surrounding the use of imagination and visualization to create life how we would like it to be, to shift our state, to self-soothe before nap or bedtime, etc.The illustrations perfectly match the narrative, are delightfully fun and playful. They don't spell everything out, allowing readers to engage and imagine further.I encourage adult readers to ask children open-ended questions to stimulate dialogue that may be prompted by the stories.

I have gifted this to two grand daughters. It is a favorite.

I read these sweet books daily to my daughter over 20+years ago. I ordered the book for a little second cousin of hers and when it arrived I sat down to read it. I found myself weeping as I read, as the sweet and tender stories evoked such sweet and tender memories. I texted my kid to tell her I was reading the book and weeping, and she responded that to this day, every time she smells a tomato she thinks of these books. That's what it's all about.

Rosemary Wells is a fun and touching author who understands what appeals to young children and parents alike. The Bunny Planet trilogy includes a story about a child and a father, a child and a mother, and a child playing alone. Each story starts with a child having a bad day and continues with Janet, the bunny queen, showing the child a better day. Let's all dream to that!

Wonderful stories that address children’s stressors in a way with which we can all identify. Lovely resolutions to the problems, sometimes through a parent’s simple love. My little son loved them, as did I.
