For anyone who doesn't understand
Should be required viewing for anyone who believes the wall is a good idea. I regularly go to Honduras for medical missions. Hondurans are some of the warmest, most generous people that exist. Absolutely heartbreaking revelations about the fate of those who just try to make their families' lives better.

I could not fathom being a hopeful immigrant looking at the desert one needed to cross in hopes of a attaining a better future.
Eleven years ago, standing at the edge of a cliff and overlooking the Sonoran desert toward Mexico several miles outside Tuscon, I could only think how terrifying it must be to any of those contemplating crossing that landscape on foot. Dusty, arid and foreboding, it is a completely barren landscape, apart from scrub brush, cactus and hills rising in the far off distance. The rising heat created a dusty filter, which along with the isolation, lack of water and enormous desert confronting us, was one of the most forbidding landscapes I'd ever seen, including desolate snow-covered mountain ranges. I could not fathom being a hopeful immigrant looking at the desert one needed to cross in hopes of a attaining a better future. God Bless those who have ventured to do so.

Extraordinary movie
I wish everyone could see this amazing and informative movie. Gael Garcia Bernal is wonderful and the director, Marc Silver, has filmed Yohan's story so beautifully. Silver has discussed a relevant topic and has brought humanity to the story of immigrants arriving from the Norther Triangle, which many avoid. I would hope people find compassion and empathy by watching Yohan and his family's story and may see themselves in his desire to provide for his family.

Amazing film about a body found in the desert and why he is there.
I love this film.... I cried so much. A true story of a dead body in the desert and trying to retrace his steps as he tried to get to the United States to make a better life for his daughter. Just beautiful and should make it clear to people that most of those coming from Latin America across the border are just really good people. We should want them here. They would make us all better Americans. Beautiful film.

Excellent
Humanize's these people we call "immigrants" .....they have families and dreams also. Plus it points out that because the U.S. Subsidizes Corn, people from Central America can't 'compete', so are forced into other types of work. Speaks also to the general Global issues of 'Corprotocracy', how the U.S. Goes to extreme lengths to control resources we covet and in the process creates turmoil in the world. Try John Perkins, "confessions of an Economic Hitman, and his other books about the subject. Sobering. Cheers.

Very good perspective on the migrant situation without falling in to cliches.
Very good film. I still wonder how Gael made all the scenes look so natural, as if each person he meet during his trip was an extra in the movie. It blurs the lines between movie and documentary in such a smooth way, you will definitely be surprised. Outstanding edition made it feel like a movie, yet the only "actor" was Gael.

My daughter needed towatch this movie for school
My daughter needed to watch this movie for school. I watched it with her. The movie is very sad, but it is also a realistic issue that occurs every day when people are crossing the border from Mexico into the United States. I do think it has impacted how I view Immigration Policy in our country.

Gael Garcia Bernal is a Multifaceted Actor
Well-done mockumentary about illegal immigrants from Central America to the United States. Gael Garcia Bernal is in it as an interviewer, but he also shares the experience of the migrants.

Essential viewing for anyone who wants to understand why so many impoverished people wander the world looking for a better life
Although this is an amazingly heart-wrenching story I think everyone should see it in order to appreciate life from the point of view of a refugee or migrant worker (there is very little difference between the two). It plays out like a detective story but in the process of the search we see the inside story of what so many millions of people are going through - not only from the point of view of the refugee/migrant worker but also the authorities that have to cope with a situation not of their own making. They too are portrayed as human in their own right.Although it is a gloomy story in one sense it is also also incredibly uplifting because it makes you realise that we are all part of the same immense human family with the same human needs. I first saw his film in a gallery at the Museum of Art, Florida (opposite the Shakespeare Theatre and near the Museum of Science). My gratitude goes to all of you - Orlando is not just theme parks!

A moving insight
Two stories in one. One shows the search to identify the body of one of the many migrants who die in the Arizona desert every year as they try to find a better life in America. At the same time Gael Garcia Bernal retraces the footsteps of those who make the perilous journey from central America, A moving story of desperate people who risk all for a better future, are preyed on by criminal gangs, and then, if they are lucky, have to face the perils of crossing the desert. A lesson of the risks people take to provide us with cheap labour. The DVD also include Bernal's short film Los Invibles with a more brutal depiction of the dangers the migrants face.

Great film.
A shocking eye-opener about the immigration situation at the Mexican-American border...this is what happens at the borderline between an affluent and a poor hemisphere...it should be a warning for the EU in the current debate of closing the borders for refugees from the Middle East and Africa. The goal for the future must be to build a world where people don't feel the urge to flee from their home countries in the first place!
