Delayed changing out the badly worn cable on our total gym for months, assuming it would be a mean task. Finally it became almost unusable so did my research and purchased this cable. So mad that I procrastinated for so long! Easy change out with very clear instructions. Works wonderfully. I think better than when it was brand new..so actually an upgrade! Forgot how smooth and quiet using it could be!

I have had my Total Gym for close to 12 years now and it is one of my favorite pieces of workout equipment hands down! The original cable lasted 10 years, and the machine stayed in storage for two years. After looking at plenty of options to replace the cable and reading through countless mixed reviews on several products I decided to go with this product, couldn't be happier! My Total Gym is back in action and I have nothing but positive things to say. Product is as described by the seller. It also meets the length, width and durability requirements. Happy customer here!

Length-wise, this cable works perfectly with my Total Gym Elite, which is actually an older model that I bought used some years ago. I've worked out for at least a few weeks using the new cable, and it's doing the job, very well.One thing I have noticed is that the photo of the cable shown is vastly different than what was shown at the time I ordered and received mine. I made sure to post of photo of what mine basically looks like. This isn't my actual cable, but an image I copied from another listing, as it looks identical to the cable I ordered and received, and for which I have posted this review.

My old (original) cable developed some cracks in the outer casing so I decided to replace it. I've used my Total Gym XL sporadically since 2013. The new cable made an improvement in the smoothness of operation and was quick and easy to install.

Fits on "GR8FLEX Total Performance Gym - Patriotic XL Model" perfectly. Was a little shorter in total length but as the owner said, you won't feel the difference in length. The cable is stiffer and the nylon covering moves with the cable. The old cable that came with the gym had a cover tubing over the cable and would slip as it was used causing strand of wires to break at different places and penetrate the cover like a needle. Unlike the old cable, this cable does not get stuck in the pulley (between the rotating wheel and the steel casing). The old cable lasted less than six months before strands broke. This cable is much better quality than the old and an excellent product. Made to last.

This cable works perfectly for my TotalGym 1700. I bought a less expensive cable (made in China) but it only lasted 18 months. I had bought replacement rollers for my TG1700 from Hucks years ago and these products are still working great too. I expect this new cable will last for many years to come as well!. I've learned that when it comes to replacement parts for a TotalGym, you definitely 'get what you pay for'.

Owned a Total Gym for 11 years and the original cable began cracking in a number of places. I've looked at replacement cables but I wasn't impressed. This cable however looked as if it would be up to task and so far it has been! Installation wasn't terribly difficult (all I needed was a pliers and a wrench) and in a snap (not the cable) I was back in action total gymming again! Now I'll see if this cable lasts 11 years (or longer!)

Decided to spend a little extra money to buy a reportedly higher grade cable which was easily installed and works well despite its slightly longer length. Cannot speak to durability at this point in time but the action of the machine is much smoother now without the cracked exterior coating present on the old cable that eventually broke.
