If you like Woody’s chalkboard sayings then this book is for you. It is basically a collection of his chalkboard sayings with some funny anecdotes sprinkled throughout. If you’re expecting an autobiography, in-depth stories or explanations this book isn’t for you, but if chalkboard wisdom is what you crave, dive right in.

Much more than the chalkboards from “Around The Horn”

I was interested in reading more of Woody Paige's writing, having been exposed to his Chalkboard writings on Around the Horn. I thought this was pretty good overall. It has a nice mix af anecdotes and Chalkboard sayings. I'm glad I read it.

Woody's quotes are great, even the one's he has "recycled" from places where I'd seen them before (or maybe they were recycling his quotes). I also like the life story and anecdotes he includes in each chapter. The only problem at all with the book is that I read the whole thing in just over an hour. I'm sure I'll read through them again though when I need a laugh.

The old stories bring back a lot of memories from childhood and college. Since Woody was my fraternity brother and roommate for a quarter, it is easy to relate where he is coming from. He was always very creative and wrote a lot of "off the wall" articles for the Daily Beacon(Bacon) which was the UT newspaper.

Woody is great on "Around the Horn" and it comes through in his book. It has anecdotes here and there about his life sprinkled among the vast number of chalkboard quotes. If you're a fan of Woody, you'll be a fan of his book.
