I’m channeling my “ inner Chris”
I love this woman and love the CD..I didn’t realise I was getting two CD’s, one in english and in French (clearly didn’t read the product description) but that’s good as I was debating which version to buy. I prefer the French, but both are great.....need a few listens . I’m channeling my inner Chris and the track ‘girlfriend ‘ had me dancing around with mine (I’m over 60 who cares!). Love some of the base guitar riffs.

CD Warped
Sadly, given that CD manufacturers are now opting to use card CD sleeves rather than the earlier plastic 'Jewel' cases, this CD is being warped in transit. The issue is compounded given that this release includes a small booklet that, once the entire CD sleeve is wrapped in cellophane, pulls the edges of the disc around the booklet thereby warping the disc. To look at the disc appears fine ....it is only when playing the disc in the CD player is the warping apparent as once the disc spins (because it is not completely flat) do the edges clip the CD tray - thereby producing a scuffing sound. I ordered a replacement copy of this CD and the same problem exists. This issue does not occur with any CD's that I own.The CD producer (Because Music) needs to look at its packaging and shipping process going forwards in order to negate such issues occurring in the future. Such a shame that a great artist is probably unaware that this issue exists and her fan base is being impacted accordingly.

Great Album. It grows on you.
Well I bought this for my fiancee at Christmas as we both loved the first album and we were excited to hear more. I left the review till now as I wanted to see if this is a 'grower' as our first listenings we were underwhelmed except for a couple of tracks. Now we've listened a lot more I've got to say I think I prefer it to chaleur and by some margin too. Its more beat orientated but reminds me of 80s pop with a lot of cues to M.J. Its been in the CD player constantly and bluetoothed in the car more or less continuously. Brilliant album but as I said it takes time to grow on you.

Fabulous Album
I actually purchased this album last year but never got around to leaving a review, until now that is.Unlike Chaleur Humaine, this album took a bit of time to grow on me but once it did, I haven't been able to stop listening to it. I find myself smiling at some of the lyrics on 5 Dollars, playing a pretend bass guitar on Goya Soda (I bet I'm not the only one), and listening to every single vocal and musical note on What's-her-face. That last one is such a powerful song, I still get goosebumps even now.Even though I purchased this album last year and Chaleur Humaine in 2016 after watching her perform Tilted on The Graham Norton Show, both albums are still played almost every week - I simply don't get fed up listening to her music unlike some albums I could mention. What's also unusual is that I like every track on both albums, that's very rare indeed.Although I don't claim to fully understand what her albums are all about, what I do know is that her music is just fabulous and that she is such a talented artist and performer. I cannot wait for future albums to be added to my collection.

An okay dance album, but I'm missing the emotional connection.
I love the previous CD, Chaleur Humaine, and regularly play it. I was looking forward to this one, but critical reviews held me back on its release. On hearing a track on Graham Norton I decided to order it. Many of the songs have a dance beat with little substance, maybe Chris is aimed at a different audience. The best track is 5 dollars but it pales when compared to Night 52, let alone my favourite, Saint Claude.
