Love it and works like a champ. But where does the silica film go? Because of how close the aluminum case is on the top and bottom - cannot fit on top of the NVME and not on the bottom of the main board. So I stuck it inbetween the NVME and the mainboard. Is this correct?

The external hard drive case is pretty simple. Unscrew a couple of screws, open it up, mount the ssd, close it up and you're good to go.There aren't any instructions so it might take a few minutes if you've never worked with one before. Only giving it 4 stars since there were no instructions. Haven't had any issues so far with it. Computer won't boot up if it's plugged in, but I believe that's a bios issue not an issue with the product, but keep that in mind. Overall I would definitely purchase again if I ever need one.

Samsung 960 EVO was not immediately recognized by the computer, and it got a bit "Techie" to straighten that out. Not difficult, but the average Joe would probably need to do a little web searching for the answers. Works extremely well. Very glad I bought this.

Bought this for a Pioneer 1TB nvme gen 3 to use on my PS5 for ps4 games as an external. Able to format and get my nvme to be recognized on PC on windows 10 but on the PS5 it is unrecognizable and causes boot issues on the console that causes database repair notifications. Thankfully I just power down the ps5, remove this external enclosure and boot up and the ps5 is fine. This enclosure also causes boot up issues on PC and causes delays booting up on desktop to get past the initial MB BIOS splash screen. I imagine this has to do with the controller on this enclosure. Bought the sabrent nvme usb-c enclosure (non-thunderbolt version) to test out and that enclosure worked flawlessly for ps5, but then again you get what you pay for in this - the sabrent enclosure is almost double the price.Again decent on PC but compability across hardware isn't good.

Just upgraded the SSD of my laptop so I was looking for enclosure for the spare disk. This enclosure has a very neat build and I am a bit surprised by the amount of accessories enclosed in the box:a USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-a to USB-c cable, spare screws, spare washers, gel for better heat conduction, even a screw driver! Compare to Samsung T5, such enclosure gives me more latitude in terms of choosing/swapping my disk. Overall the speed is satisfying, both read/write is around 450MB/s, perfect for my need of transferring large files.

I used this once on April 12 2021 when I had just purchased it to archive data from my computer. I tried to retrieve the data on Dec 3 2021 and the drive would not allow me to access the data. It showed up as an uninitialized drive. I ordered another enclosure from UGREEN and inserted the very same drive and it works without any problem. This drive was used only twice: 1) when backing up data & 2) when trying to retrieve data. The drive had not been removed> Unfortunately for me, the drive is no long under support or return from either amazon nor from TAIBEYOR. I had bought 4 enclosures around the same time and am now worried that the other ones will not work when I need them. I need a dependable product when I archive or backup data. Unfortunately I can't depend on this product nor support from TAIBEYOR.

I’ve bought 2 of these and they’re great. One I am using as storage on a Raspberry Pi server I’ve put together and the other one as a portable storage device. The sever drive has been in service 24/7 for almost a year now and hasn’t failed me yet. The size is great and runs quite cool.

Product is very good. Study build. Good use of materials. Easy to install. Supports nvme m.2 SSD with m-key. Overall a good product.

Hardly used for 9-10 cycles/connections. And it stopped working.
