The difference will be felt
My kid used a one piece (-11) bat for 3 seasons and immediately felt the difference with this bat. Greatly reduces vibration and sting with a great “pop”. Good for those who do not want to spend $350 for the Easton Ghost but want the 2-piece benefits. The kid is 9 yrs old (10U) at 50” tall and loves this bat. Very light weight and built solid.

Great Bat with decent pop!
Bought this for my daughter after she made 8U all-stars. She had previously had a 26 (-10) Easton Pink Saphire which she played with since she started in 6U. This bat definitely has more pop to it than the Easton bat. When she barrels it up, the ball definitely travels further than it ever did with the previous bat. I was a bit concerned with the dual material (composite handle, alloy barrel), but it's just fine. Even though it weighs the same as her previous bat, it did take her a few practices to get used to swinging a longer stick. So just be prepared that your child may not hit perfect the first time she uses it if she is moving significantly up in size. We moved up three inches. As a point of reference, my daughter is 8 years old. 4'3" and weighs 61 pounds. She has been playing for about 4 1/2 years. My daughter loves the look of the bat and is thrilled that it's different than all of her teammates, many of whom have the Finch bat. If I were to criticize the bat at all, it would be that as the bat is almost all black, it's a bit difficult to put her name on it. I suppose if you had one of those silver markers, you could do it. We took a black sharpie and wrote her name on the light blue section of the bat.

BROKEN BAT!
12yr old daughter who has not played fastpitch softball for 2 seasons has decided to pick it up again, she joined fall ball to get back into playing, she has only had a handful of practices and enjoyed this bat. The bat we chose had great reviews and as advertised is lightweight and has pop to it. She had batting practice at the cages with a pitching machine today, on the 3rd pitch we heard a crack and the barrel of the bat went flying into the net. Only having the bat for 5 practices it has already broken in half at the handle. Demarini is a quality brand as I use their bats for an adult slowpitch softball league for years and i have not had a bat break on me yet. I will be contacting Demarini and place a warranty claim, I am hoping I will be refunded for the price of the bat and will definitely be looking for another model as i do not wish to have the same issue during the season.

A great bat for smaller players at a great price
I bought this bat for my 9 year old daughter who plays 10U, she has been playing for a little over 3 years. She is a strong hitter, but on the smaller side and her old bat was just keeping up with her. She has been swinging the Bustos for about 3 months now and has been very successful. It has that great composite pop, but is very lightweight which is great for her small size. I think this is a great "stepping stone" bat for parents who want to try out a composite bat (yes, it is technically hybrid) without the huge $300+ price tag. I would definitely recommend!

Not a good bat -- not even close
I'm not a bat expert, but this bat (32", 19 oz, -13) has no pop at all. I've got a 12 year old daughter with a very strong swing, who was excited to get a new bat of her own after spending the last year just using teammates bats. While I wasn't expecting the solid hits like off some of her teammates $250 composite bats, I was expecting this to be a decent bat, but am totally disappointed. Waste of money. Plain old aluminum bad would be better than this lifeless bat.

Great all around bat
Allows my 11 year old daughter to hit the ball further and more consistently with the added length

Not worth it!
We are returning this bat after using it just a couple of times. It is already dented and our Daughter is only 10 years old. Not what we would expect with the price we paid.

Night and Day...
I've been purchasing middle of the road bats for her first couple years of fast pitch and she has always made contact, but without the pop. We purchases this bat a couple weeks ago and it is night and day. I can honestly say that her equipment has been holding her back in the past. This is a great bat (-13) and confidence booster for my nine year old.
