No the pitcher can not be sterilized but the wand and pitcher are top rack dishwasher safe.

How well does it mix when using rice cereal?

It works fine for me with mixing 2tsp/oz of oatmeal cereal in with Nutramigen formula. I mix the formula first then add in the cereal.
