99-8231 Single or Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for 2002-2006 Toyota Camry Without Factory Navigation

I installed this Metra 99-8231 bezel and head unit adapter into the gaping maw of my '04 Toyota Camry. It accommodated both the car and and the double-DIN box perfectly and with zero modification. My experience with Metra adapters: They always fit. My _other_ experience with Metra adapters: They're kinda cheap quality. Metra adapters bezels are made of flimsy black ABS plastic, which does the job just barely. Expect any Metra adapter bezel to have a noticeable gap between the dash and the head unit; and expect each Metra adapter bezel to be aesthetically "off" in color and texture. With those caveats aside... If your intent is to quickly and conveniently install your box into your dash, Metra products are always reliable.

Works perfectly

This is perfect. I purchased a new car last weekend and wanted to install a radio right away. So I went to Walmart and got an install but that said "87-07 toyota". The car is a 04 Toyota Camry. . . Didn't fit at all. So for a few days I drove around with the radio just sitting in a big open hole in the dash until this came in the mail. It took me 5 minutes to install and it turned out perfect. Last time I buy something for my car from Walmart lol.

The Pros: - Goes together easily. - Fits decently in the hole left by the stock Camry radio, though not quite perfectly. - There is enough adjustment in the mounting holes that it looks decent when installed. - Just enough mass of plastic to be reasonably strong. The Cons: - The sculpted opening for the radio bezel needs to be straighter. The particular radio it is being used to install has a small volume knob on the left side and there is not quite enough space to be able to get the fingers around the knob to change the volume. - Had to drill and trim new holes on the side pieces to accommodate the mounting holes in the aftermarket radio.

The double DIN fit perfectly on my center console of my 2006 Toyota Camry. Most doubled in touch screen decks will be able to fit flush and even with it. It's not a bad price and definitely looks better than the OEM! Huge upgrade at modernizers the interior! 👍

I bought a boss audio radio, they and the maker of this product said it would allow me to install the boss audio radio. Firstly the "hole cover" that fits around the radio to fill the gaps doesn't actually fit on the radio; my radio sticks out and to make it flush I'd have to cut the top and bottom pieces of plastic so much that they'd detach. I also had to modify where the radio slides in as on this cover the hole has small extensions that angle inwards for some reason and make the hole too tight. Second, the side mounts holes don't match up, I drilled holes to accommodate, and where they are supposed to allow the bolts to go to attach them to the cars inner dash don't line up either...again I could modify them to make them (and I did) The unit I have now is unrecognizable to the one I bought but it's the only one I could find (even asked crutchfield and they also said this one) so I'm going to buy another and use what I learned from this debacle and make one a little better. Might end up going through 3 before I get a flush and securely mounted radio unit though.

So the fitment into my 05 Camery is just about perfect. The bottom looks like it's just a tad off. Now the problem I had is the radio didn't fit. And I had to shove this thing in there and the fitment for the single din just isn't right for this radio anyways. I bolted it in but the radio does hang out at the top.

Lo compré para mi Toyota Camry 2004. Tenía el radio original y decidí Cambiar a una pantalla más actual y compré una CarPlay. Este adaptador funcionó perfectamente y fue fácil de instalar y viene con todas las piezas que se necesitan se la recomiendo si desean instalar otro dispositivo y lo mejor que su envío es rápido.

It is the right kit for my 2006 Toyota Camry but there is a small 2mm gap on the bottom of the dash kit, just enough for you to notice, other than that its good quality and fits everywhere else

Se siente algo frágil en su construcción, queda un hueco en la parte de arriba y no queda muy bien al momento de poner el autoestereo, en mi caso tuve que limar un poco para que pudiera entrar.
