Smaller Pocket Knife
This a great smaller knife. I don’t like a larger knife in my pocket for many reasons. This is a great looking knife that is convenient to carry, well made and something to be proud of.

Very good, very small - quality pocket knife
Very small, but nice pocket knife. Excellent size for front pocket carry, using to open and break down small boxes. Excellent quality.

The perfect peanut!
I have a growing Case knife collection of over 90 pocket knives and just got this Caseo range synthetic peanut in today and absolutely love it. The snap, the perfect orange of derlin handle color and the fit and finish on these blades are perfect. I prefer this peanut to my Case Yellow Derlin and Case Pocket Worn Old Red Jig Bone peanuts because the handle is more evenly finished and the snap is better than those other two knives, despite being the same model. I am very happy with this orange Case knife and it joins up in my collection with my Case Orange Synthetic jack and two blade congress knives.

W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery....the best of the best.
These days, there are a lot of good quality choices out there when it comes to buying a new knife. As a knife collector, I love a lot of them and also have good things to say about some of the other brands out there. There are a lot of knife steels out there with some great properties to make blades with, but here are a few of the differences I have observed with my Case products: ♣Case knives are still 100% made in USA by real expert craftsmen. ♣EXACT fit and finish on all mating pieces, smooth opening, and beautiful to look at. They still take obvious PRIDE in their work. ♣Real dyed bone handles. ♣They hold an edge like no other knife I have ever owned- they stay sharper longer than my Shrades, Gerbers, Bucks, or Kershaws. ♣Lifetime guarantee. ♣Tough! The handles have never loosened or come off on any of my Case knives. ♣These are not just good quality knives- they are among the BEST knives made. Period. When my grandpa passed away in 1994, I received his Case pocket knife. It was the only knife he ever carried with him and he had probably used it for 25 or 30 years before I got it. It is still a great knife to this day and holds a fine edge for a long time. I have since bought a couple other Case knives and I expect they will become heirlooms to my own grandchildren someday.

Perfectly Carriable, Quality Steel
I have a small collection of case knives. Being that I am collecting them, I don't want to carry any of the nice, mirror polish blades to dig in drywall, cut open plastic containers, or cut cardboard. I bought the "cheapest" case peanut to carry every day in that little watch pocket on denim. A knife that I can destroy the blade and not worry. As indicated, this blade is the "Tru-sharp" blade type/style. It's not a mirror finish. It's intended to be used. Out of the box, it was sharp, but not amazing. I spent a few minutes with a strop and compound. Case tru-sharp steel holds an edge well. Now, both blades easily cut paper. Definitely the sharpest knife that I've carried. I really enjoy this model from Case. My grandfather always carried a small pocket knife (an Imperial), which is about the same size as the peanut. A small blade is always good to have on hand. And, although the "peanut" name is sort of lame, this knife itself is far from it. It's pragmatic. It's a small pocket knife. If you need a 4+inch blade, this isn't a great choice. If you live in a city, this is a great companion. The zytel handles are nearly weightless. At ~$35 it's a fair price for the product.

This knife is sharp !
I love my orange case knife. It’s small enough to fit on my pocket in all my pants. It is SO sharp so be careful! It is very light and the quality is incredible!

Work knife, not a collecting show and tell knife.
I've seen some complaints that this knife is poor quality because the blades are not high polish and has plastic scales. This is a "work" or value offering from Case at a lower price than the purty knives, thank you Case for this offering. If you use 'em, highly polished blades get easily scratched and scuffed and look worse than the "as ground" finished blades of this knife. Closed length: 2 3/4", brown plastic jigged scales, polished nickel bolsters. Back springs are highly polished and pretty close to flush when blades are open and closed. I could not see any gaps between back springs, liners, bolsters or scales. Main, clip point blade length from tang to point is 1 7/8" long x .405" wide x 1/16" thick, tapering to 1/32 at the point. Blade pull slightly stiff but smooth, nail nick is a little shallow but useable. Blade is not well centered when closed, slight rub on one liner but not a real problem. Small pen blade length from tang to point is 1 3/8" x .270" wide x 1/16" thick, tapering to 1/32" at the point. Blade pull is slightly stiff but smooth, nail nick slightly shallow but useable. Blade is well centered when closed. Both blades have very defined half stops, which I like since it gives me the opportunity to get a better pinch/grasp when opening and assure fingers are out of the way when closing, large knives have more area to pinch/grasp without getting skin on cutting edges than small blades, half stops are welcome. Blades were useably sharp, slightly toothy, most will not feel the need to sharpen further. Blades are stainless steel, Case does not advertise what grade. I like super sharp blades and had no trouble getting them that way on my water stones. There has been some comparison to Rough Rider's peanut pattern, since I have both, I will say that the Case has slightly wider and thicker blades than the Rough Rider and is some what more heavier duty, this is not a slam against the thinner narrower blade since they have their uses. This seems to be a well made knife, I like it. I have also learned to love these small peanut pattern jack knives, small, compact, fit anywhere and do most cutting chores which is probably why they have been so popular for so many years. I think any one who uses or might use a pocket knife should try one of these peanut patterns.
