Background - Alexandra originally trained as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. But her work as a TV presenter (Live reporter of World Touring Car Cup; World Rally Championship) took her all around the world so she began to explore different styles of yoga and learnt from many fantastic teachers globally. In 2014, Alexandra had a bad accident which broke her back. After investigation it became clear she also had a degenerative disc disease and doctors recommended that she discontinue any high impact sport and to focus on her yoga. So focus she did. In 2015 Alexandra went to India and trained at a renowned ashram gaining her yoga teaching qualifications. Since then Alexandra has taught in various ashrams and yoga centres around the world and has built up a great reputation as a wonderful teacher.

Simple to follow
I bought this specifically as it states she has DDD which I also have . I found each section easy to follow, you can do all of them of pick which one you want to. I have had a few headaches recently and I think that the breathing helps. I am very pleased I found this as there was nothing I couldn’t do and found it very calming.

Perfect for beginners espc with Fibromyalgia
I have Fibromyalgia and am 61 and needed an easy yoga dvd... this is perfect.. I especially like the stretch and time slot. I do find it challenging at the start of every use ( with fibromyalgia you're back at square one every morning as the muscles are painful through illness not underuse) BUT at the end you redo the opening sequence and it's less uncomfortable and easier so I can tell its warmed up and stretched the muscles.... ps also bought a 15mm thick yoga mat to try to cushion my muscles... it def helps but there is still some discomfort but its manageable unlike a thin mat.

Good product
This is a good easy to follow yoga dvd for beginners. It does work your muscles and I ache afterwards. I'm a brand new beginner and I don't struggle with the positions so it really is only for beginners and I feel I will outgrow this dvd relatively quickly but for a starter dvd it really is good.

This is the perfect way to start doing yoga!
If you're new to yoga and are attending classes, this dvd is the perfect companion for your workouts at home.I love the way the moves are explained and demonstrated - you don't have to do the whole movement on your first attempt. I like the way the narrator tells you you can bad days and good days!I am new to yoga though I have a background in contemporary dance and pilates. These workouts REALLY work me and increase my strength and suppleness.Very glad I bought this - won't ever get tired of the workouts!

Not wanted
Wrong order but not worth the hassle of returning

Starting to get the hang off.
I am overweight and after a bout of I'll health quite unfit. Bought this to begin the process of getting back into exercise and while I cannot get hold the poses for the length of time that presenter does I can tell a degree of strengthening within my muscles after just a couple of repetitions. The good thing with a DVD is that you can hit pause and then resume once you are back in position or stop and watch before rewinding and starting again.

Great for beginners upwards not annoyingly hippiefied
I've tried yoga classes and other DVD's and always struggled trying to follow what they are doing and also got irritated with the hippie elements. Alex explains everything clearly whilst keeping a good pace, she explains how you can vary each pose based on skills and experience which is great. She seems more fitness oriented rather than meditation focused which I prefer. I decided to do the full 1.5hr workout to start but the seperate sections are great for a shorter exercise. After just one session I felt loser, stronger and more nimble. I highly recommend this

Interesting dvd
Alexandra explains well and gives variations for some moves. It might be boring at times if you are more experienced but overall, a good dvd, easy to follow.
