Handy
The file and case are very compact so it’s very handy for keeping in my make up bag and taking with me. It does a great job of filing and is easy to clean so very happy with purchase; it’s actually the second one I’ve bought as I thought I’d lost the first.

Easy to use
Love the effect of this glass file. Less splitting than using emery board files. Very pleased. Also like the little case it comes in.

Surprisingly good!
The media could not be loaded. I used to use the 2-stage nail buffer board from Superdrug, which did give really glossy nail shine. However it seems that is no longer available, so when looking for a replacement I chose to try this as it was cheaper than the competitors.First impressions were that the cardboard packaging looked a little cheap - if you're giving as a gift, bear this in mind. However inside that, the hard plastic case is great to protect the board, and it fits perfectly in one of those 13x8cm mini Tuff bags in my handbag (along with other essentials, like mini nail file, tweezers, paracetamol etc).It took me a little bit to get used to the board - I think I was using it too delicately to start with, for fear of scratching my nails. I should have used the same gentle pressure that I'd use for the flexible board.Being a solid board rather than a flexible one means it can be a bit harder to get a smooth finish all over, as it can't flex to the shape of the nail. The shine can originally look a bit patchy in places depending on how many ridges your nails have - but don't try to buff out all ridges in one go; just keep buffing little and often over several days, and it will get better. This 36 second video isn't the best focus (sorry) but hopefully you can still see that both my thumb nails had many ridges to start with, and shiny areas on the buffed nail in comparison afterwards. Obviously I stopped the video at this point so it wasn't too long, and I did continue buffing afterwards. (However I'd already done my other fingers - you can just see the shiny nail on my right hand's ring finger). This is much quicker than the multi-stage process I used to use - great for females. However if you used to use a multi-stage board to buff your man's nails (just the smoothing / removing ridges stage, and not using the shining stage) then this board may not be ideal. Having said that, this does give a more natural shine on the nail, rather than an ultra-glossy nail varnish shine, so he may get away with it...However this also works brilliantly on toenails and makes them really shiny. Perhaps because they tend to be flatter, whereas fingernails are more curved?I should point out that I'm not just using this for vanity because I want shiny nails - they feel much smoother and stronger. If you think that when you sand a piece of wood, it's much smoother and less likely to generate splinters! So likewise nails are less likely to split when they are buffed smooth. These smooth nails are a great base for nail varnish.I particularly like that this glass board can be washed and reused, so as long as I'm not clumsy and drop it, then it will last a long time. The flexible boards I used to buy soon wore out and lost their ability to smooth ridges. So it's a big money saver there, and the price per use will be much less.So overall, while this board may not give the glossiest shine I've had from a buffer board, it is much quicker to use, will work out cheaper and it is small enough to carry everyday for any quick touchups.I would recommend these boards. I have already bought another two as gifts for my family, and I'd replace mine with the same thing if I broke it.I should add that I only use this to buff the nail surface, not as a file for the length of my nail. It may work but as it's designed to be gentle, I suspect it would take ages. Far better to use a separate glass nail file for the length, and this to shine the surface.

Excellent alternative to emery buffer
I suffer from Reynauds and as a result, my nails have very pronounced ridges which don't look good. While I find that buffing them with traditional emery buffers is effective, it's very time-consuming and the buffers don't last very long. They wear out after 3 or 4 uses. This buffer is glass so more hard wearing and it also buffs your nails to a very shiny finish in just one step.

It makes very shiny nails!
I am a 73 year old bloke and I bought this on my son’s recommendation as a good, small nail file in a carrying case. As a normal file it works well and gives a very smooth finish. But I did try it on one nail for its intended purpose and it’s amazing! One pass over the surface of the nail produces a really high polish. If I were a woman I don’t think I would ever buy clear nail varnish again. Personally, I had to use an ordinary file to get rid of the shiny bit!

This simply just does not work, as I said previously to you in the survey. No more contact please.
Useless and not worth the money. Can not be bothered to return.

Best glass files - Ever!
I've used glass nail files for a few years - and much prefer them to emery boards (hard or soft) My nails are prone to splitting (lengthways rather than crossways - ouch) and I've always found the glass files to be gentler on them.these are different in that they are much, much, MUCH softer on my nails - so much so that after only one week of using them, my nails are in better shape. Not one single split in the last few days. I'm not having to constantly coat them in polish in order to stop them catching on the slightest thing. the fact that they come in their own wee protective case is just an added bonus.Love them so much that I've already ordered another two for gifts.

Undecided
Really not sure about this. Feels quite cheap & certainly didn't make my nails look better.
