Great cutting board-ideal size, thickness, weight
Writing this review after using this cutting board for 4 months. It's an ideal size for chopping vegetables and fruits, steaks and smaller cuts of meats, and slicing bread like bagels. I prefer the feel of cutting on maple wood rather than plastic or bamboo wood which is harder on your hand and knife. The board has a nice weight and doesn't slide around on the counter. But it's not too heavy to retrieve from an upper shelf cabinet. The channel is deep enough to capture most juices and liquids from meats and fruits. As with wood boards, it does require treating with mineral oil, which I did weekly for the first 4 weeks to condition and smooth it out. The wood is rough when it first arrived, which may be a turn-off for some.

Don't buy
while it is a nice sturdy cutting board, it already started bowing and I only wash it by hand. I wouldn't recommend this cutting board to people.

QUALITY
I was in desperate need of new cutting boards. I had googled good hardwood cutting boards and Kitchen Board Maniacs was a company that came up among others, but this company was family run business, made in the USA :-) and the pictures of their products was very impressive, so I gave them a try. I was so happy I did!! The quality was as they claimed...the weight was wonderful and the beauty and feel of their boards just fantastic! When you love to cook, you appreciate quality products to work with in the kitchen. I highly recommend their products...I will continue to purchase from them. I also want to mention that their prices are very reasonable. Thank you Kitchen Board Maniacs for your wonderful and beautiful products!Respectfully,S. FrankhouserFlorida

I guess you get what you pay for
If you're looking for a cheap hardwood cutting board, this one minimally meets those requirements. I'm currently living in a place with a smallish kitchen (I've been in others where space is REALLY at a premium) and I can easily use this cutting board on just about any surface without feeling cramped. That said, two bell peppers in and you're gonna be on the verge of spillage over the sides of this cutting board. The groove around the edge is nice to keep juices from running off.The thing I'm most disappointed about is the durability and crack resistance. As you can see from my pictures, the board is starting to separate at the joins. I've only had it for a mere three months. My parents have a similar board that they BUILT in 1976, still together, 48 years later (the cutting board and their marriage). So I can't be fooled into believing that you can just "expect" separation and cracking over time.I purchased this specifically to be able to cut cooked meat because of the natural antimicrobial properties. However with the splitting, this one is about to become a veggie only board. If cheap is what you're looking for, this one will serve you well. If quality and longevity are your criteria, I would look elsewhere.

Just not like my old maple cutting board
Works weel enough for meal prep of meats (raw, semi frozen, fresh) of fruits/vegs, for which I use the alternate side. Clean up is easy, but seems to require being reconditioned after 1-2 uses as per manufacturers' recommendation to recondition when wood becomes lighter in color. My old board needed reconditioning every 1=2 months all of its 30+ years until it fell apart. I cook homemade every day, every meal. I gave it 3 stars bec both sides are useable and it cleans well, also this size is what I'm used to and works well for me; otherwise the rating would be fewer stars.

Cracks fast, save your money
I bought this on January 9 and it has already cracked all the way across in three places before five months have elapsed.

Awesome Maple cutting board
I researched the type of wood to get and maple is better on your knives and a good wood for cutting board but most were very expensive. This one was very reasonable. Arrived fast and looks well made. All my plastic boards have deep slices and all need to be thrown out or repurposed for something else. Will never buy plastic again

Not worthwhile
Purchased this mid June 2024. It has split and warped beyond use. Never put into dishwasher. Always washed by hand and oiled. Highly disappointed.
