YogaAccessoriesCotton Zabuton Meditation Cushion

A ZABUTON can be used as the "under-pillow" where you rest your knees and calves while meditating in cross-legged position. For this purpose, It is typically much softer than the ZAFU,  YogaAccessories (TM) Round Cotton Zafu Meditation Cushion which is the more structured pillow that sits atop the zabuton, where you park your bottom while sitting. Some people are capable, and/or more comfortable, just sitting on a zafu or zabuton alone, seated more toward the front edge. If you're like that and can save $40-$50 bucks or so, more power to you. But in the technique I learned, it's very important for your posture to allow your hips to rest higher than your legs. The combination of the two pillows facilitates correct posture, and it's definitely more comfortable than sitting flat on a mat on the floor.When my Yoga-Accessories zabuton arrived, I was disappointed at first because I had in mind the comparatively huge ones used in my teacher's studio. I thought it might be too narrow to cushion my crossed legs when I put my zafu on it. Not only was I wrong, I'm glad now that it doesn't take up more space on my floor than it needs to. All I needed to do was put the top pillow closer to the back edge of the bottom one. Of course, I'm only 5' 5", but I think even much taller people will be comfortable with this particular combination.I love the fact that this zabuton come in several colors. It looks like they've added some groovy patterns to the zafu choices, too. It was nice to choose a color that makes me feel safe, rested, and happy. In the accompanying photos, the two cushions look slightly different colors. (They are, but the lighting in the pictures exaggerates the difference.) We ordered the two cushions several months apart. I don't know if that has anything to do with the slight variation. Regardless, even though aesthetic details like this are meaningful to me, and I'm sensitive to them, I'm very happy with the combination of the two cushions. The hues match perfectly; the top cushion is just a little less color-saturated. I should mention that my wife bought my first zafu (round cushion) for me as a surprise, and I wasn't crazy about the color. The company made it very easy to exchange, and the new one arrived promptly and in good condition. This would get five stars except I think the price of the two items together is a bit steep.

Nothing to dislike. Protects my legs from the hard floor and works well by not allowing my zafu to slide around. Machine washable, air dry cover.

I enjoy this zabuton.I recieved it today and its quite comfortable though a bit lumpy and not as nice as one at my local meditation center. But for the price I can look past this it's definitely a step up from my fleece blanket.Ive matched it up with a meditation bench and the pair go quite well together.I've done thirty minutes of sitting on it, one ten minute and one 20 minute and the time just sped by because I was able to relax.It also it helpful on the spine and knees.The only problem I've had with mine is it smells like hay really bad and came with some fur of some sort on it. This doesnt really bother me however as i enjoy barns and animals.4 out of 5 easy.

Very nice, reasonably priced, and comfortable. I've been using it for about 2-3 years now, daily. The cover is cotton and I noticed that it was getting a bit dirty where my legs and feet go, so I now have a cover over the front of it for times when I don't have long pants and socks. I also noticed it was getting dusty so I tried vacuuming it, but that didn't work as well as I thought it would. I suppose I could wash it but I don't want it to shrink. So it might be a good idea to throw some sort of cover over it. In any case, it's great, and the color is a nice deep blue and matches a zafu I got here, of another brand, also a good deal.After several years of using it, I notice that it's gotten very lumpy. It's still fine, but I down-graded it a star because of that.

I had been sitting on a folded blanket for meditation for several years. It did not provide much padding and was unbearably hot in the summer. I finally did something about it and ordered one of these. I read all the other reviews and decided to go for it. I can see where people say that it is too lumpy are coming from. However, I sit cross-legged the whole time, in various meditation postures. For me, this mat is awesome! I get even more excited about doing meditation knowing that I will be so comfortable. It is thick with ample padding, and the size is perfect for me to sit on with an a small cushion. The cover is removable so you can clean it, and it comes with straps to fold it in half and carry it around.My advice to anyone thinking about buying this is to go for it if you sit cross-legged. As for kneeling, and any other postures, I can't comment. All I can say it that I love it.

Way better quality than I anticipated, especially for the price. Perfect size for meditating with zafu. I immediately ordered a second one for second meditation space. Blue is a deep navy, which I prefer to the cerulean blue I was expecting. Have been using the zabutons for twice daily meditations for about two weeks, and they are maintaining their shape and form. I will highly recommend this zabuton in the future to anyone even remotely interested in a meditation practice.

It is not too big nor too small - just right. You wouldn’t want your cushion to take up more space than necessary, and this one is perfect for me with just a little extra room (I’m 5’11”). See my pics, you can tell there are a couple inches extra space on each side.I saw reviews about it being lumpy... I think that’s overstated. I only found a couple lumps, they weren’t that bad and easily smoothed out. In fact, if I hadn’t read the other reviews then I probably wouldnt have even noticed it.Best of all, it is comfy. I’ve been using a folded up blanket, yoga mats, etc. but this is waaay better. The canvas cover feels like a good quality too, and the print pattern looks nice.All of this makes for an inviting place to sit.
