BH Cosmetics 120 Color Eyeshadow, 5th Edition

Beautiful palette of color. I also have the 1st edition palette. I bought that one first having never tried or heard of this brand before. Within a week of receiving that one, I ordered the 4th edition. I pull my colors from each one each use. So many different options. I love the shimmer each has. It's best if you use a primer as most of these colors will wear off pretty quickly. I like NYX primer pots. I have one in shimmer and matte. I use E.L.F brushes, my fingers and cotton swabs for application. Goes on smoothly. Pigmented well. Some of the super super light shades barely show up, but that's to be expected. I use those to get more shimmer without more color. These colors can be applied wet or dry. For daytime I use them dry. For extra drama at night, I apply them wet. When they dry the color is more intense. I have also been using a product, also by E.L.F. that is an eyeliner sealer. It can also be used to turn any shadow into a liner. This has been awesome. So many different looks.So many people complain about the size of the pots. That they are too small. I have had my palette for almost a year and have barely made a dent in use. Those that complain they didn't feel like they got full size pots are either high or the kind of girls who use paint rollers and Spackle to apply their make up. For optimal use, I have found it's better to build colors up. Start with a small amount on your applicator of choice, apply until there is nothing left on the applicator, redip into your color and add another layer until you get the color and intensity you desire.I will be ordering a few more sets for christmas gifts. All of my girlfriends (and a couple of the guys) have been drooling over my palettes. Especially my nieces.

This was my 2nd eyeshadow palette purchase from BH. The first one I ordered, the 120, 2nd edition, was wonderful! I thought I had the end-all in eyeshadow palettes with every color I'd ever want or need. The colors in that one were oh-so-beautiful! Then, my 3rd edition arrived. When I opened it yesterday, I was amazed: the colors in the 3rd edition palette are more sophisticated and exotic. Many of the shimmers and colors compare with the Bare Minerals pots I used to buy, except now I get more, in one sleek 9" compact, and for a fraction of the cost! The only thing I wish they would add is a mirror but, I understand they would have to redesign the compact. These shadows are vibrant from the moment you put them on and stay put all day until you take them off. With such an array of colors, even if you are a neutral color wearer, you can put on a different look every day and your eyes will look gorgeous from sunrise to sunset.

I was excited to order this because everyone on youtube uses bh cosmetics. When I received it I had gotten the 3rd edition. No big deal I'll return it and get a new one. I made sure to ask them how they could be sure that I would get the right one and they told me that they would put a note on my order. Didn't work because I received the 3rd edition again. I got a refund and could keep the palette but I won't be using many colors from it. Customer service told me to go elsewhere to buy the palette until they fix this problem.

This kit is perfect, there are over 100 shades of every gradient of color. The color pods are very small (maybe 1/2 inch diameter) but you dont need a lot to make a big impact because the colors are highly pigmented. I would suggest using an eye shadow primer to get a "MAC" effect. One of the trays lifts up and the bottom tray is stuck in place, just be careful when opening. If you drop the kit, the colors will spill over and blend into other colors. Besides that the kit is perfect for the price and it helps a makeup armature to find what colors work best on them.Pros; Lots of colors, nice selection from natural to extreme, case is slim and nice.Cons: color pods are small so if you run out of your favorite color, you will have to buy again or select a new fav.

I have read & watched many reviews on the BH Cosmetics 120 palettes. I chose the 3rd edition because I would use these colors more than the other editions. The packaging is extremely nice & very well put together. However, when I opened it up & removed the top tray the matte black was broken. It didn't make a huge mess & stayed well intact in it's own circle so I may be able to salvage it. I absolutely love the case! It seems like a very sturdy plastic casing that is extremely easy to open with an inch wide slim button right in front. It has a large mirror in the lid, where you can not only see what your doing if you were to use it but it's big enough you can see your whole face in it. This palette has every color range in mattes, satin & shimmers. I didn't swatch all of them but I picked a variety of colors from the lights to the darks. I was a bit disappointed on how some didn't show up too well. So investing in a good primer will have to be next on my list. The darker shades however, are very well pigmented. The scent the product gives off smells like paint, which isn't a big deal. I'm sure it won't leave your eyes smelling like paint or that any one will be so close to sniff your seductive lids. But the scent is a bit powering when you first open the case. I'm definitely happy with my purchase & can't wait to start playing with different looks.
