Great birthday gift for our 4 year old grandson and 6 yr old playmate. Timely shipping too. The kids loved and spent much time playing with them.

These are super cool and cute. My two boys loves these cars.

The bodies of these cars are made of solid wood and feel sturdy. The tops are plastic and the wheels are rubber, plastic and/or metal. Ours arrived in good condition with no broken pieces. The cars seem to drive smoothly on wood and can drive on carpet too, though they don't always drive in a super straight line. The cars are held together with pegs that insert into holes on the block bodies. Our connections are all solid and tight, though perhaps a bit too tight, because I think my almost 5 year old may struggle to get them apart by himself, but he can certainly grow into them. One odd thing about this particular set is that the ambulance has peg holes on the front and back blocks and the police and rescue vehicles have peg holes in the middle. The police and rescue vehicles windshields extend over all three body blocks and the ambulance canopy block has a different peg and doesn't actually even solidly connect to the rescue or police vehicle bodies. So what? This means that the ambulance two top pieces cannot actually be interchanged with the other two vehicles, so the ambulance is not interchangeable at all (I've included some pictures to show the peg arrangement). This means that you can rearrange the bodies and tops of only the police and rescue vehicle, which doesn't really create much variation and is also a bit weird since you can end up with two vehicles that say both "rescue" and "police." This isn't a huge deal for us because I don't think my son with tinker with the configurations too much, at this point, but if you're looking for a fully interchangeable set, this isn't it. Overall I'm pleased with this set, though I'm not sure that for $26 it is the best value.

My wife found these and got some for our son. I think I fiddle with them more than he does. They come completely apart, but not in a cheap way–they are very premium feeling. The connections are gratifying and every piece tight... smooth. They roll really well, and are durable enough for our toddler to not destroy them.

I had never heard of Automoblox but apparently they are a Canadian based toy and have a reputation for being high quality. The set arrived in what seemed to be perfect condition, but as they are played with, you find that some parts fit too tight and others are way too loose. The premise behind these is that you can mix up the pieces to create different looks to add more fun and imagination to playing. They are well-made, as in they do not haev any rough spots or splinters - they are all very smooth and rounded well. They are made from European Beech wood, which is nice. It is just a shame that the pieces do not fit well between the vehicles. If you just want these to display, then they are 5 stars. For playing, I'd say 3 stars since even my nephew gets frustrated when the pieces do not fit like he wants them to (and they should). Still, my 5 year old nephew loves playing with these when he comes to my house and they are better than plastic alternatives, in my opinion.

They are smaller than my other ones but I like them
