The epitome of smart smut goodness!
Part of the fun of reading a co-written book is seeing whether the authors’ voices are distinct or blended. With this book, I didn’t know where one started and one stopped. They were able to create that magic where the characters were just Logan and Devi and there was no wondering where Sierra or Laurelin were in the process. That’s a gift, my friends.Should I start with the sex? Hell yes! The sex in this book is the hot-hotter-hottest-need-to-left-hand-it-right-freaking-now kind of sex. Was I surprised that these two would bring the heat? Not one little bit. The book is about actual porn stars; of course it needs to be hot. I had no idea it could be that erotic though. Damn.Logan O’Toole is the thoughtful type of male character that you dream about finding in real life but worry that could only exist in books. Who could possibly be this smart, this caring, this awakened, this feminist, this perfect ideal? He was introspective and oh so careful to make sure he was treating his partners with the utmost care. Sure, he had some bumps in the road and made some mistakes along the way but Logan O’Toole might be the best book boyfriend you could find. He’s so dreamy! I love him!And while Logan is this dreamy perfection, Devi Dare is a goddess. Oh Devi! She is brilliant, and kind, and gorgeous, and feminist, and sexy, and I loved the pieces we got to see of her Farsi background. I loved her views of porn and her desire to work in feminist environments and her ability to trust her instincts when in a dangerous situation. She made many brave and hard choices throughout the book, more so than Logan. For me, Devi was the real hero of the story.Logan and Devi work together to film a reality porn show but how much is real and how much is for show? What happens when feelings develop and you have to reconcile f-cking other people on camera while the person you love watches? The whole idea of an open relationship fascinates me. Is Devi ok with it? Is Logan? This is where the book really takes off for me. The feelings they have on the subject and the eventual outcome results in a thoughtful, beautiful, wild ride.I would be remiss not to applaud the authors for highlighting the problems that still exist in the porn industry. Since porn has become so mainstream, we think it’s a mythical happy place of positive sex but there’s still a murky underside. As we saw last year, sexism still runs rampant and women are put in dangerous situations. It’s important to pay attention to which companies we are watching. Finally, thank you so much to the authors for giving me a small part in being a porn-star! And I didn’t even have to take off my clothes! It was thrilling! If you haven’t read Porn Star yet, you must! Go give it a 1-click so you can fall in love with Devi and Logan too!

Cute, but not perfect
This is another book where the authors have good intentions, but don't really execute them that well. I think it's wonderful that Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone wanted to write a book that includes the very real issues within the adult entertainment industry, including rapes and sexual assaults. I think that if they had done a little more to, no pun intended, flesh things out, then the book would have been excellent.I loved the comparison of Devi/Logan to mythology and astronomy, but I think that sometimes it wasn't as developed as it could have been. Of course, neither were the characters. Each felt a little flat, which was disappointing because I could tell that they were aiming to build these really strong characters. Instead, Logan becomes the epitome of a NiceGuy stereotype and really isn't as in touch with respecting women as he thinks he is, while Devi comes off as whiny and immature. Even the villains/antagonists in the story aren't fully-formed. When I finished reading the story, I felt almost like I had wasted hours of time on reading this book. I hate feeling like reading a book was a waste of time, especially when it is a book that could have been excellent. The sex scenes were okay. They weren't over-the-top or even all that racy like you might expect with a book on porn stars falling in love. They were just okay. I couldn't understand how the characters were having mind-blowing sex when the writing wasn't really all that mind-blowing. Some of it was gross, but a lot of it just seemed blah. I know it was meant to shock and titillate, but it was, like porn, too over-the-top. It didn't seem like realistic behavior, and all seemed like it was a performance. A lot of it was also grossly coercive, which doesn't promote the sex-positive message that the writers were intending to share via the story. There were some elements that were a bit racially insensitive and a little bit off on how bisexuality works. The idea that Devi is "exotic" fetishizes her for displaying traits associated with the Persian ancestry on her father's side. I'm sure that Paige and Simone didn't mean to say anything racially insensitive, but they did make statements that were cringe-inducing. The descriptions of bisexuality really dumbed down the research. While I appreciate the attempt to address the research that shows women are rarely heterosexual when it comes to arousal, saying all women are bisexual based on arousal is untrue; most are bisexual, followed by homosexual, and then heterosexual, but that doesn't define their sexuality. Yes, most women can be turned on by other women, but sexual orientation isn't just about arousal. The same studies that determined that women are rarely heterosexual also say that most men are either heterosexual or homosexual in their arousal, which effectively erases bisexual men. They also show that women can become aroused by watching animals having sex, which could be used to suggest that women are into bestiality, and that's just interpreting the study in the most literal way possible. It dehumanizes women and bisexuals. It also engaged in bi-erasure by suggesting that if a person is more attracted to one gender than another, that they cannot be bisexual. Devi enjoyed sex with women and fooling around with women, but she preferred men, especially Logan more. In fact, she based her identity as heterosexual solely on the attraction to Logan. Enjoying sex or preferring sex with a particular person or with a particular gender does not make someone not-a-bisexual. Dating one person exclusively or marrying them does not change their sexual orientation. Bisexuality is hard enough for most who identify that way without encountering these stereotypes & common misconceptions. It was mentioned toward the end of the story that the romance developed over the course of two months, but it seemed like it was closer to three weeks. Maybe there was more going on that wasn't included in the story, but I think I might have found the story more believable or realistic if there was more of a sense that they were doing more than just having sex and talking about astronomy. It was also a little weird that the one who was more wealthy was Logan. Porn is one of the few industries where women out-earn men; top female talent make $2000-2500 per scene, whereas the most well-known male stars make $1500 per scene. To live the lifestyle he lived, he would need to be working more often and investing a good deal of his check. The only reason Devi would be making less is (1) the refusal to work in heterosexual porn and (2) the lack of experience. Otherwise, she would be out-earning him.I think the book had an interesting premise and I might recommend it if you just want to read something a bit smutty, but I wouldn't tell anyone to have high expectations for it. Maybe it won't disappoint you if you don't go in expecting too much.

Not for prudes and thats a good thing
One thing I love is an original storyline and this was one I really loved. I love books where the characters have unconventional jobs and in this one Logan and Devi were porn stars. I really liked how they were open about sex because it proposed the problem can you be in love with someone and have sex with other people. My main thoughts during the book was will there be a conflict with their jobs and love life? I really liked the turn out of the book and the sexy times! With a book like this you must come with the sexy times and these authors did not disappoint. I have a man crush on Logan and a girl crush on Devi. Laurelin Paige is one of my top authors and she didn't disappoint. I'm adding Sierra Simone to that list. I cant wait to read more from them.

Interesting book, steamy read with so much more !!!!
I really like both of these authors, so when you see a book called Porn Star that they have both collaborated on, I was dying to read it.Well written as you would expect from these two ladies, this book tells the story of the Porn industry and you get to delve behind the scene's and you learn a little of what makes people tick and what goes through their minds. This book is NOT all about sex, it is so much more than that and I really loved that about it. Don't get me wrong - the sex was scorching hot, well written and a complete turn on.Logan O'Toole and Devi Dare are porn stars, Logan is up there with the big stars, known to all porn fans around the world - he is one of the best. Devi mainly does girl on girl but three years previous she got to work with Logan and was instantly attracted to him and not just for his attributes !!Now once again their paths have crossed again and they are having to deal with their feelings towards one another that neither know quite what to do with in the porn world. The chemistry between these two characters was very potent and flowed in waves off the page. Logan is to die for in looks and actions- but for some reason I never quite warmed to his character, whereas Devi I loved from the onset. Her morals, her ideals her quirky ways and her hippy parents were a treat to read. The second half of this book was so much better than the first - I was 30 % in and it wasn't floating my boat at all, but this book and it's characters most definitely grew on me.I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed it being based around the sex industry and I loved the fact that it was so much more than "porn". But if you still wanted to get your buzz going, it was all there for you between the lines. A recommended read from me !!

Good read
I enjoyed this book. The story had more heart than what I expected, and the characters were easy to connect with.Logan was swept up in the porn industry and fully embraced in it's clutches, most well-known performer, running his own productions, an innovative voice and yet he wasn't a jack-ass, he seemed to take great pride in all aspects of his work and treated his co-workers with respect. He had a few moments of emotional clarity and yet at the same time I wanted to shake him for thinking he knew best about what to do in the future......it takes 2 buddy and communication is key.Devi is younger and not quite as caught-up in the lifestyle, she is at ease with her body and nudity as a result of her up-bringing and sex isn't a taboo either. She is comfortable where she is within the industry and looking to step out her comfort zone. A girl lost and looking for direction again there was a couple of times I was like say it don't bottle it up, but I guess when everything is new you put your best self forward and don't want to rock the boat. They have lusted after each other from a far for a while and when fate brings them together it is an emotional rollercoaster they have to ride while dealing with how to factor in their very physical jobs.

3 Conflicted Stars
I picked this book up thinking it would be a light hearted, funny read. I don't know why I thought it would be comedic - maybe the cover? ( The UK cover is different to the US I've discovered ).Anyway, I jumped in anticipating a romance, which it was in one sense, but...... *sighs* I really struggle getting round the main characters having sex, especially graphic sex, with other characters. I know it's their jobs. I know they're porn stars. I knew they would most likely fall in love & live happily ever after but it just didn't sit right with me.Logan admits he feels empty having sex with these other porn Stars but he still enjoys it and totally gets off on it.The writing is good. I liked the heroine and I liked Logan- he's actually a really sweet guy but OMG WAKE UUUUUPPPPP! Your girlfriend is not likely to enjoy watching you getting it on with Bambi Roo even if it's just a 'scene'.The connection between them is intense and hot and I loved them together. Devi's parents were a bit unbelievable - really? Being ok with your daughter doing porn and giving her her first vibrator when she was 14?Maybe I'm a prude but all the sex with the other people, even in a professional capacity , ruined it for me. My bad- this is all down to my personal taste. It addresses the risks of the Porn industry well.HEA? Yes

i love this book so much, its fun, flirty and got depth
Whatever you think this book is about, well it is so much more. This book was such a refreshing read, it was downright sexy and full of intense porn star moments but it was also fun and felt real. That may sound weird but right from the first few pages i knew i was going to love this book, and i was right. The inner monologues of these characters of Logan and Devi give us that extra insight into them. Especially Logan whatever he is physically he is like a deep ocean underneath. He knows he is a porn star, he knows he will not last forever in the industry but hearing him talk gives us a whole new level to his character. Devi is a refreshing character to Logan and his ways and attitude and the two of them together is hot. I will warn you these two authors have wrote a hot and steamy story that also holds much more to it than the sex scenes. It is a enlightening read into the minds of a male and female in the 'industry' who also find romance, and i would be intrigued to know what professionals thought of this book, for us mere mortals i just fully suggest you read this book and get swept along on the Logan O'Toole ride

Didn't want it to end!
I wasn't going to buy this book as I really didn't think it would be for me! I've never thought of male porn stars as attractive so I kept ignoring it when I saw it advertised! It then popped up again and the reviews looked good so I thought i'd give it a chance! I'm so glad I did as it had me gripped straight away! This by far is one of my best stand alones (in this genre) in a long time! It wasn't rushed like most! A great epilogue and I STILL want more from them! They are both great characters! I don't normally fall in love with both the male and female lead! But with this I did! Logan is a romantic and not the typical brooding I can't love again kind of guy which actually made a nice change! And Devi is fun and yet still quite innocent in some ways! I'm so glad I read it! Brillant book! I need more of Logan and Devi 😊
