AMAZING !!!
My very first RTS ( Real Time Strategy ) game was Halo Wars. I went into that game not knowing anything about it, and not even knowing if I would like it at all, but as it turns out I absolutely LOVED it. So Halo Wars 2 was a no brainer to me, it was a day one buy.If you know what an RTS is and have experience in this genre of games then you know what to expect here. Base building, troop development, land and air, vehicle & armor , weapon development etc etc etc............ then of course moving troops and etc from one place to the other to complete the objectives of the game . Sounds simple and boring? LOL, it is not, you will have multiple things happening at once, not all the time but it will happen, you may have troops engaging a target and more somewhere else engaging some enemy somewhere else and then your base comes under attack and you have to mange what is happening there as well.. Don't think this will be to much to handle for you, the game is set up in a way that you can quickly move from one engagement to the other very very quickly and seamlessly. Most RTS games will be found on PC, and few have been developed for Console, but the way the game has been tailored for controller control instead of mouse and keyboard it is absolutely outstanding. the controls are simple and easy to remember and understand, allowing quick response for what ever situation you find yourself in during the game.Story - The Game begins as the crew from The Spirit of Fire awaken from cryo sleep due to a distress signal from an instillation called the ARK. Upon deploying a Spartan team to the Ark to investigate the signal, the team encounters the Atriox, a Brute that has risen through the trials of war to become the most brutal and fierce leader of a rebel covenant faction. It is now up to you to stop this terrible threat and save the galaxy and the human race..This game will also impact the Halo 6 story line, which is very interesting because the original Halo Wars had no impact at all on the games that came after it. I love this idea and upon playing the upcoming Halo 6 title I will remember and be able to reflect on what happened during Halo Wars 2, and why the things happening in Halo 6 are happening . Halo Wars was a game that was set in the Halo universe but had nothing to do with the main line Halo titles and the Master Chief, and that is not the case with this game and the upcoming Halo 6 main line installment.. What a great idea, I absolutely love it and absolutely cannot wait for the inevitable Halo 6 release in 2018.Graphics -Absolutely gorgeous, detail everywhere, you know you are playing a Halo game, there is no doubt. The cut scenes are absolutely AMAZING, and the original Halo Wars was no slouch in this department either, but DANG they are beautiful in this title, and just help immerse you into this game and the Halo universe.Voice Acting -The cast in this game are top notch as you would expect from a AAA game release. There are a few characters throughout the campaign that are better than others, but that is to be expected just like any other game or movie, but over all the voice acting is exceptional to further your game immersion.Sound -If you have played past main line Halo titles you will be right at home here, from the sounds of gunfire to the pop of plasma grenades, it's all here. The Scorpion tanks, Warthogs and all Covenant vehicles sound absolutely great and just like they should and are definitely what you remember. Also just like all Halo titles this entry has an excellent orchestral sound track that's just puts you into the Halo universe and keeps you there, simply amazing..Conclusion -This is an AMAZING title for everyone not just the Halo fan base, there is just so much fun to be had here. In my opinion this game is well worth the purchase price, and I urge everyone to pick it up.Solid 5 out of 5

5/5 stars! Halo Wars (2009) mixed with a new, fresh experience.
This game is amazing! It brings back familiar characters from the first Halo Wars (2009) and good memories. Captain Cutter is more handsome and looks like his voice actor. Ellen Anders also looks like her voice actress, which is really cool; but i prefer the original Ellen Anders (2009) actress because she is more feminine and looks more Japanese. i'm really glad the Spartans are back! The Banished provides variety and the experience is *NOT* a rehash of *any* previous Halo game. It is fresh and new, while still providing nostalgia. It is far superior to Halo 4 & Halo 5. Alice-130 is way better than Spartan Palmer (Palmer's attitude is toxic for no reason)! I give this a solid 5 / 5 stars. Thank you 'Microsoft Studios' & '343 Industries'!

Great Gameplay! Okay Storyline.
I rated 4/5 for the moment - I'll change in time perhaps - because where the game is super awesome to play and experience as an RTS, the storyline in the campaign seems just as mundane as the first game before it. Or random, however you want to see it. Really, I was more excited about the story than I was about the gameplay. And the game leaves me feeling... unsatisfied. Call me crazy. But hey, I enjoy playing old Fable II on my Xbox 360 better than I do playing competitive on Overwatch with Xbox One. So bite me, lol.Anyway, being a veteran of the former game of Halo Wars, I was really excited to see that a second game of the series was coming out! It was a sad time back in the day to see the Ensemble Studios ended their days after the game, as I had been playing their games - especially Age of Mythology - since childhood. Now, with Creative Assembly or whatnot, the game seems way more fast paced, has new in depth game modes and the blitz gameplay/cards are really awesome to try to wrap your mind around! Seriously, the gameplay is awesome and intense! However, as I said, the game's story - spoiler alert, do not proceed if you are looking to buy new - seems really "meh". I mean, the characters have been asleep for 28 years and they run into the "Banished"; a rebel/mercenary group who was a rival to the Covenant in their own way. And where they are modernized aliens who have established forces on the "Ark", the Spirit of Fire is 28 years old all in all... and you mean to tell me the human forces can really take them on? No. Not when they went into cryo sleep 28 years ago, the Spirit of Fire is a frigate against a cruiser and the Spartans are Mark Ones, lol.Not that I have anything against the characters/humans, mind, but 28 years have changed a ton in the Halo Universe. The story would have made more sense if the characters - instead of a huge rallying speech and getting ready for a fight to the death - were on a tactical run until finding/stumbling onto better tech on the Ark. That or they were fighting a game of cat and mouse, avoiding the Banished until they could establish links with UNSC forces for backup. And really, the AI "Isabela" is meh too. There's drama around her and I saw no real look into her past, being a guardian of the Ark and all.Anyway, sorry to ramble. Lol. If you have read this far, it's 4/5 for me. The gameplay is awesome and addictive. The story just doesn't match my expectations thus far. A single UNSC 28 year old frigate versus a covenant cruiser? It supposedly takes 8 UNSC ships to deal with that enemy, or so my hardcore fan friends say.
