Can't go wrong with Airfix !

...after all these years.Airfix's StuG is based on the example at Bovington Tank Museum. Dimensionally it is perfect, unlike the 1/76 Fujimi offering which is more expensive and too wide.It has some flaws. The hull top machine gun is missing and it doesn't have the side skirts that most of these vehicles acquired (they were converted from Panzer IIIs, so while they now had a competitive gun, the armour needed all the hep it could get). Side skirts are easy enough to make (wine bottle foil cut with nail scissors works).Recommended.

Admittedly im still in the early colouring, washing and priming stage of this model but I must say it packs a neat 75 mm punch, the box art alone is beautifull by G. Schule circa 1963 and the mould tools are exactly as they would have been in the original 1962 release, once primed you can really see the rivet and panel line details, just bear in mind the kit is 1/76 so iff you are planning on accompanying your STUG III with infantry then you can get the Airfix classics range 1/76 German infantry

Its fifty years since i last bought an airfix kit as they used to be parts missing or poor moulding of them,and after all this time excess flashing poor quality moulding will stay away from airfix

Needed for a diorama. Very easy kit to build with little excess plastic on sprues.
