I have been using a USB-C hub with an SD card slot for downloading digital camera photos. After I had upgraded enough cables to USB-C, I really didn't have a use for that hub other than memory cards. I decided to get a dedicated reader and went with this (much more expensive) Apple one.It is WARP SPEED compared to the two USB hubs I had been using. It works very well for getting footage from my old digital camera, as well as from an Insta360 camera using a microSD-to-SD adapter.

I would have saved a lot of money wasted on many highly rated but inferior devices that all broke had I bought this one to begin with. It is fast, small and mobile, exceptionally well made and dependable. It is user goof proof. When you insert your card completely you will always know it. There is no other for SD card downloads that competes with its quality IMO.And note that It also downloads the faster UHS-II SD cards.

Works exactly like you’d hope it would. I primarily use this when transferring photos from my DSLR to my iPad for editing. I personally love that it’s white - stands out amongst all the black camera bodies, lenses, and accessories in my camera bag. Very sturdy feeling, and the quality you’d expect from an Apple device.

This was a huge lifesaver! We went to Italy and I transferred all our photos onto a sd card every night just to make sure they were secure! Well after about two days I realized my iPhone had not been linking to iCloud and if I would’ve lost my phone or anything happened to it I wouldn’t have had not a single photo from Italy! Get this!

It’s soooo easy to use because it’s small. It fits nicely in my desk drawer when I’m not using it. It’s beautiful Apple white. High quality. Great for travel.I would definitely buy this again if I needed another one.
