This is a great addition to my 13" 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. In order to use it with a protective case, my husband used a tool to cut off a small section of the case in order to get a good connection. The result of the modification is great and my husband did a great job. I also have a 13" 2017 MacBook Pro without Touch Bar for work. My husband did the same modification to get a solid connection.All the ports are operating the way they should. The adapter does run warm to hot after a while. I pull it off when it runs too hot in order to ensure the high temperature does not permanently damage the MacBook Pro. I don't think it will but just wanted to be on the safe side.I wish this adapter also comes with an Ethernet Port as it would provide everything I need for the MacBook Pro.

so far I have used the lightning charge and the SD card and both worked great. The adapter fit perfectly in my MacBook air. The item came in a small box with padding around it to hold it in place so there was no damage during shipment. I could use the box to keep it in in my computer case if i wanted to, but I think I’m going to put it in a small pouch so it fits inside my computer case, which is not much more than a sleeve.

So far it's exactly what I wanted except it doesnt work with my thin protective case on my MacBook Pro. I didn't remember reading it saying I'd need to take the case off to have it connect fully. Otherwise it seems to work so much better than what I was using before.

This product has been extremely useful for what I need. I do a lot of data transfer, so the biggest issue I have run into is that two USB flash drives do not fit in the corresponding drives slots at the same time. Granted, you might be able to find two flash drives that conceivably fit, but I am not going to be going out of my way for this. I do recommend this product.

It is a nice bit of kit, *much* more economical than buying the individual adapter dongles sold by Apple. It's held up fine so far. When first used, you need to apply some pressure to get it to seat correctly, and to unseat it I needed to lever it off with a key or small screwdriver. It's become easier to seat and unseat with time, which makes me a bit wary of its long-term durability--will it at some point no longer seat properly? Time will tell.

It works really well. I like that it is compact and it has a variety of ports. It takes a little bit of time to charge but it's just a matter of seconds. You have to plug it really well, so if you don't it would look like it's not working and your hard drive or whatever you're using is going to keep disconnecting. You have to plug it really good and it will work perfectly. I've used almost every port and works just fine.

Had this since april 9th and device was working amazing updated my system to the last version of mojave and the hdmi port stopped working and then every port I plug into be it my computer or someone elses device reads usb port disabled if anyone knows how to fix I would gladly change my rating I unfortunately dont have insurance so its like im out of luck and I need dual screens that I can work off of

I bought two of these for use with Mac Airs (which have 2 USB-C ports). These devices allow me to plug in the power cord, a monitor (using an HDMI cable) and additional devices (such as printers, scanners, etc) using USB ports. Monitor and other devices remain connected to the adapter when I unplug the computer for use away from the desk. Very useful.
