Great! Sweet and Spicy - Very Chewy
I have tried a lot of plant based jerky, and this is one of the better options. The "spicy" flavor would be better named "cayanne and brown sugar" because this is the flavor profile. I liked it but it might be either too sweet or too spicy for some. No weird after taste, which is rare. The texture is VERY chewy, which is nice for people who miss that about meat jerky. I found some pieces a little daunting to eat, but prefer that over mushy or soft jerky. Try it!

Best vegan jerky
BeLeaf Vegan Jerky has quickly become my top choice among plant-based snack options. Having tried various brands and flavors of vegan jerky, I keep coming back to BeLeaf for its exceptional taste and texture. What sets BeLeaf apart is not just the quality but the variety of flavors they offer. While all their flavors are enjoyable, the spicy version stands out as my personal favorite. It delivers just the right amount of heat without being overpowering, making it a perfect snack for anyone who loves a bit of a kick. The jerky’s texture mimics traditional jerky surprisingly well, striking a great balance between chewiness and tenderness. It's flavorful enough to satisfy cravings, yet light enough to enjoy without guilt. In fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve already recommended it to friends, and many of them have become fans too. The combination of delicious taste, multiple flavor options, and plant-based goodness makes BeLeaf Vegan Jerky a snack worth trying. If you’re on the lookout for vegan-friendly snacks, this one is a must!

More enjoyable than expected
I like my beef jerky, and occasionally go through a phase where I'll buy about $100 worth and snack on it exclusively for a couple weeks. I've tried numerous varieties over the years, and recently have been trying vegan jerkies to shake things up a bit. They are hit or miss, and almost always criminally overpriced for what you are getting, but some are quite good. This is one of them. It is a soft, shredded jerky with a mildly spicy flavor, almost too easy to consume. You get decent value for your money, better than most plant jerkys offer, and it is savory and mildly spicy to make for a very respectable midday or late-night snack. Not greasy, not overly mushroomy. It has a bit of that fake-meat flavor common to vegan alternative products, but the Wasabi flavor covers this well. I am a big fan of the consistency - soft, chewy, lots of flavor from chewing. All in all, I rather like this vegan jerky, it's probably one of my favorites I've tried thus far. I will probably be ordering it again, along with a couple other flavors from the same product line. If you like normal beef jerky and you want to vary up your rotation, or just want a savory snack, would recommend.

Yummy yummy yummy 😋
Oh my goodness I have been a vegetarian for 30 some years and been wanting beef jerky forever but I won’t eat meat so I was pleasantly surprised to find this wasn’t sure what it was gonna taste like or if the texture was gonna be good. But they nailed the texture. The flavor is good. I just wish they didn’t add that sweet flavor of licorice to it but other than that it’s awesome. I’m on my third bag. And I will be ordering more. I’ve tried another brand and it was not even close to this. It was Louisville vegan jerky and it was disgusting. I only eat one piece and I couldn’t even eat anymore. These people nailed it with the texture if you’re looking for a jerky and you’re vegan, this is for you. I’ve tried the spicy and the original and they’re both delightful but I like the spicy best.

I wanted to like it
I am not vegan but wanted to replace my salty heat addiction with something animal friendly. This was my first foray into vegan jerky, and the reviews were great. I was excited to try this but when I opened the bag, ripped off a piece and put it in my mouth... After a few chews I spit it out. For you, I am going to do it again so I can accurately describe the stuff. Then the whole bag is going in the trash. Tis review is for the Spicy flavor. Before ingesting, it has a leathery texture. You have to rip the pieces apart with two hands. It smells like sweet licorice, which makes sense since sugar is the second ingredient. Licorice powder and fennel are also ingredients. I tear off a piece and slowly chew it. The texture is good. But the odd spice combinations of licorice and cinnamon and sugar are undeniable. The ginger lends a tiny tiny bit of heat at the back of the throat, but I would have opted for red pepper or Chipotle or something. It does contain black pepper and chili powder, but I can't taste either. It is very very sweet. It has soy sauce as an ingredient but the salt is smothered under the sweetness. Okay, I swallowed. Not taking another bite. I hope this helps you. If you are vegan, this may be totally fine. If you are looking for a meat replacement product, I'd keep looking. Just the only thing I liked was the texture. The choice of flavorings was bizarre for what I expected. Maybe if it were branded as a teriyaki or something I would not feel that way. But for me it was just gross. And I *do* like black liquorice and fennel. Just not in this format.

Very Tasty
It wasn't obvious from the description but this is shredded jerky. Turns out that just makes it a little easier to chew which is a good thing for someone like me who's had a lot of dental work. This jerky doesn't really have a strong wasabi taste but it is delicious. I would describe the taste as a mildly spicy honey mustard. It's become an instant favorite and I bought it again almost immediately. Recommended!

Very good, but the cost is too high
It's a very good product, at first I thought the flavor was a little strange but once you eat enough it becomes very addictive. The texture is also really nice, though it is very tough so if you're not into that then don't buy this product. It's drier than other brands which I prefer. My only complaint is that it's a bit messy. The way it's made, little flakes come off the jerky as you're eating it. You pretty much have to try and get a whole piece into your mouth to avoid this. It would be nice if they came pre chopped into smaller pieces so you could do this, but a lot of the pieces are too large and need to be torn. I ended up doing the tearing inside the bag, which was a bit tricky. With all that said . . . the price is way too high. I am use to paying premium prices as a vegetarian, but $11 for a bag that last a few days is just crazy. I think $5-7 is about the most I'd be willing to pay.
