Did you know abortion caused 9/11?
Ever since it first aired, "Family Guy" has pushed the limits of good taste, and often succeeded wildly in doing so. For the most part Fox has allowed them to do and get away with quite a lot, but occasionally the show has gone farther than the network will allow. The last time it happened was with the largely non-offensive "When You Wish Upon a Wienstien". The most recent is with this story, "Partial Terms of Endearment".The plot centers around an old college friend of Lois' who wants to have a baby. She and her husband have tried time and again to have one, and just haven't been successful. So they ask if Lois would be willing to act as a surrogate. She agrees and then they die. Lois debates whether or not to have an abortion and hilarity ensues! Now this isn't the best or funniest "Family Guy" episode ever made, but it is a very good episode, and one that I feel should have probably aired with a disclaimer in front. There's not really much here that's terribly offensive, but there's a lot that's very funny (especially Peter's belief that Lois' friend wants a threesome with him and Lois).I understand why people have a problem with there being only one episode on this disc, but that episode does have commentary. Plus you get many extras, including some downloadable songs, an animatic (should you care about such things), and "Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show". While it would've been nice to see a couple other episodes thrown onto here, I don't feel ripped-off or cheated by what I got.Bottom line: if you like the show, you'll like this DVD.

Love this Disc!
First off, I've got to hand it to the guys at Fuzzy Door, great work. I love the bonus features, especially the songs! Seth MacFarlane is a genius, and if you haven't seen Seth and the gang perform all the voices live, check them out on this DVD.There was an issue with one of the bonus features; I recently updated to iTunes 10 on the PC, and evidently the problem lies with iTunes 10 and the song transfer application (iTunes 10 is so terribly buggy in regards to TV Show purchases, rentals, etc.). I visited the [...] help site from the transfer application, and there is a download that works with iTunes 10. Apparently this disc was created before iTunes 10 came out. Now it works, and the songs are hilarious well worth the little hassle. You can of course transfer the clips manually, just copy the MP3's from the DVDROM folder, and you are good to go.The other feature that I thought was cool about this DVD was the fact that it worked great on my Mac also. When I inserted the disc into my Macbook Pro, a menu popped up that offered the song transfer feature (which worked great btw on the Mac with iTunes 10), but the cool thing is that Apple DVD player didn't start up yet. I was able to launch Apple DVD player from the Menu. Usually when you insert a DVD movie into your Mac, Apple DVD Player takes over regardless if there is enhanced content on the disc. There must be some new technology out now that separates the Mac, PC, and DVD Set-Top box - nice!

Ok, now it's more a business than a hip jab at society
Yep, after the stuffed plush toys, the action figures, the books, the video games, the season releases split in half so that we have to buy two sets to get the whole season, on and on and on, I am now officially beginning to feel used. As other reviewers note, this is an average episode of "Family Guy" churned out with the hype specifically to wring another ten bucks out of the fans. It's okay, a couple of funny points, but nothing (again, as noted by others) that will still be banned from the air a year from now, if that is, in case the fact. I somewhat wonder whether a one minute snippet got a resounding "No!" by the powers that be, and Seth and Crew took that and ran with it. I read once that Elvis came through in a seance (stick with me, making a point), and asked the participants to track Colonel Parker down and ask just one thing: "When is too much money enough?" (Apparently, Elvis was distressed at the singing plates and glittering pot holders recently licensed). Same question here, Seth: Dude, where are you even stacking the money, anymore?????

Sweet Package
The packaging of this is damn clever. Visually interesting - a clear box with images plastered all over it - then a ping pong set (everything but the table), poker chips and dice - Seth's way of saying get a life I think. The wallet is actually convenient - the boxes of the individual seasons issued aren't exactly high-toned. One thing - the booklet might have listed WHICH episodes have commentaries instead of having to hunt them one by one.I have a modest suggestion for TV box sets. One, we don't need the credits on the openings - we're not watching a broadcast. Remove them and put them in a black screen at the end. And create the episodes whatever length you like, and put the complete episodes on the DVDs - cut the material you need to for TV, but don't put the outtakes separate on the DVD, just show us the original complete conception. That would justify buying what you've already seen repeated ad nauseum broadcast on several channels. That said, the outtake disk is very good, if short - sometimes one line. There's a lot more, some guy was selling a much longer bootleg of outtakes from the first two seasons years ago. Holding back for the End of Days Freakin' Last Word Complete Family Guy Box? Give it up, Seth.

Great Set!
Even though there is now more then 5 seasons of Family Guy this pack is great. How can someone who loves this series not want ping pong paddles with Steweie and Peter's head on them?? There is even Stewie's face on the 4 ping pong balls that come in the set.Now to the product. The case is smaller then it looks in the picture. Its 8.5 x 6 x 8.5 inches. It's plexiglass with silk screen prints of the characters all over it. The corners are capped by aluminum and have blue end caps that are riveted on.Now to whats inside this box. There is a six smaller thin plastic boxes inside that contain the goods. Four small ones hold four different colored poker chips (red, blue, green, yellow), one holds two decks of cards and four dice, and one to hold the ping pong set (2 paddles, 4 balls and a net + 4 rods that have suction cups on the bottom to hold the net). I wish they were the official season boxes in here but thats not so. There is a black zip case that holds the 18 dvd's, but there is Stewie's face on both sides of it and it does look nice for a zip case. All the discs of the five season's are here, the movie (Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story) and a bonus disc (Off The Cutting Room Floor). There is a nice leaflet in the back of the zip case that lists what episodes are on what discs, including movie info and some info on the bonus disk.

A Tad Steep, but Still Good
Not many complaints here. Product arrived on time, intact, and the episode is funny. The price is a bit steep considering it's the cost of a whole season for just one episode, but I'll let it slide since it's the episode where the meme of Joe Swanson saying "Hey Peter" originated.Plus it's a rare episode that isn't included in the individual season DVDs, and has some cool special features as well. Would recommend if you're collecting all of old Family Guy (Seasons 1-9) like myself.
