The male end clicks on the back the printer, but you can still easily pull it back out. I don't believe it's a problem with the male connecter end, as I can do the same thing with a microSD card in the same slot on the printer. What I find interesting is that the longer 60cm version is cheaper than all the shorter ones, but the bit of extra length is nice to have to prevent cable stress.
