My mother would bake her own bread at home. While in the 1950-60’s Miami Beach was predominantly Jewish with many incredible Deli’s and Bakeries, moms was the truest to Northern European recipes. When I saw the ad for this bakery I wanted a taste of my youth and past. I am totally pleased and delighted with the Dark Rye bread I received. A little expensive, but not a put off for such great quality. One needs to try this bakery’s products for no preservatives or anything artificial. I’m hooked and it’s a hell of a lot better than any grocery store bakery.

I agree with the other reviewer, this bread is not the same as it was in Russia. However, if you like Borodinskiy from Russian stores in US, then this is it. It is delicious, reminds me of my childhood, and I still enjoy it especially with Viola cream cheese or Russian sausage. Yummm!!! I don't like that the price of the bread here is 3 times more of what it is in a Russian store (insert shocked face with exploding head), but since I don't have any stores nearby, I buy it here. Therefore, if you are craving a taste of home and willing to splurge every once in a while, I'd definitely recommend this bread. By the way, the packaging the bread arrives in is most unusual.

If you like this kind of bread (dense, full of flavor, rich bread), then I would absolutely recommend this seller to buy from. I loved how well packaged and protected it came, shipping was smart and fairly quick without being overly expensive. This bread freezes super well so next time I will buy more than just a couple of loaves. Excellent customer service too!
