Works great but not a substitute for a good cleaning.
Fastest way to clean a gun and you might have a need that. If you're a duck hunter it's good to keep a can in the truck. Sometimes you need to clean your gun fast and get back out there. Like after you drop it in the marsh. This, a rod and patches, and good gun oil will get you through that. Though it's not a substitute for a good cleaning but you can do that when you get home.

Not just for guns
Among spray solvent cleaners, these are your options:Classic (red can) Brakleen. This is tetrachloroethylene. Same thing as dry cleaner fluid. This is NON-FLAMMABLE (check the can). Excellent cleaner (it's literally cleaning fluid). Also safe for most plastics. But bad for the environment and dangerous when heated. Banned in some states.Non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Very flammable, not safe for many plastics.Carb cleaner... extremely flammable, doesn't even try to be safe for plastics.. designed to dissolve everything. Often contains acetone, toluene, etc.Gun Scrubber (this product)... designed to be gentle on gun finishes, contains only alcohol and hexane, both relatively gentle organic solvents with relatively high flash points. It's still flammable, but less so than anything containing acetone. No toxic chlorinated hydrocarbons. So Gun Scrubber is basically a can of rubbing alcohol and hexane. If you are looking for a less-toxic, slightly less - flammable spray cleaner that's safe for plastics and finishes, this is the only product on the market. It's basically a can of rubbing alcohol. Even if you don't have any guns, this is the best general purpose household spray solvent cleaner you can get, and it's also not expensive.

Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber
This is an excellent product to use for cleaning rifles, pistols, or shotguns. I use this product to clean pistol fire control units and other parts such as bolt carrier units, firing pins, springs. I highly recommend you use chemical resistant rubber gloves in order to prevent this product from being absorbed into your skin. Eye protection is also recommended. Make sure you use this product in a well-ventilated area. Recommend using outside if possible. This product will effectively clean small parts very quickly and thoroughly. Recommend you use a small nylon gun cleaning brush on parts with high concentrations of carbon. Be sure to oil and grease parts after using this product, as it strips grease and oil down to the metal.Note: This product can be used on poly frame pistols or rifles without causing any damage. Some chemical cleaning products out there will damage poly framed pistols or rifles, thereby rendering your firearm warranty void.

works well
Seems to work well for cleaning firearms but a fair amount of elbow grease is still required. It also smells pretty strong

Ultrasonic cleaner in a can.
Obliterates any dirt, grime, and powder residue. Some firearms like the Ruger 10/22 are a bit of a pain to disassemble. Pull out your trigger pack and spray this for a second or two and all of the gunk will be gone. Re-Lube and you are good to go.

A Must Have For The Gun Room
I've used Gun Scrubber for at least 3 decades. It's great for cleaning loose debris out of hard to reach areas. It's safe on most guns but not all. It's quite harsh so test it on plastics and synthetics before using.Aside from melting some cheaper plastics I've never had it damage the finish on any wood or metal finishes on a gun. Whatever you do, DO NOT get this stuff in your eyes. This isn't really a solvent type cleaner. It's meant to rinse away gunk that's already been loosened up in or on your gun.I caught it on sale and it's a great value.
