I found that the slicer was fairly easy to use, and I am a right-handed person who currently has a dislocated elbow in that arm, so fairly easy... however, I did find that the more pressure you put on the vegetable, (zucchini in my first use), that he thicker the noodle. Also, I think there was more waste than I would have wanted, in other words, the holder that goes on the end needs to be fit more to the gadget, so that there is less waste while using it safely and not running into the blades, but for the price, it was fine.... I will likely buy a more sophisticated one in the future, since my family really did enjoy the recipe for the tomato, garlic, pasta, which I added some onions and other spices, herbs to -- it was quite tasty and felt like it was really good, and in-line with the vegan diet we are currently experimenting with. So thanks for the recipe!

Mixed feelings. Worked ok with zucchini, but not at all with Japanese eggplant. I suspect the eggplant was too soft as it kept jamming and eventually broke in half. With the zucchini, I had to stop and clean halfway thru each zucchini. Downloading the free recipe book was a major pain and failure. The first email address I gave it (a disposable one to protect against spam) they refused to accept. I tried another address (on yahoo) many many times and the book never showed up. I think I found it with google, but it was pretty lame - only had 12 recipes. From that book, it seems like the ingredients to slice are zucchini, cucumber, and carrot. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't buy it.

BIG CAUTION- the "holder" was not very effective for holding stubs of veggies. Plan on alternative use or composting the ends or being very, very careful. I sliced my finger when I tried to get the last bit. I had some difficulty getting to their recipes and the seller nagged me about posting a review. Otherwise I love it. The zucchini noodles are a great low carb sub for pasta. Sauté them (it evaporates the excess water). We've had them plain with spaghetti sauce and loved them. With just a little garlic and olive oil made a yummy side dish. A very fun toy for your kitchen and very helpful with a low carb diet to develop alternatives to traditional side dishes. Glad I bought it but will be using care when using it and not letting the kids "help" with it.

I love this spiral slicer! I can make recipes like Zucchini Spaghetti with pesto sauce with ease and in less time! I can tell you; I have tried spiraling using a vegetable peeler and it is time consuming. This spiral slicer makes it so much easier for me to prep. I can spiral carrots in a breeze for salads and it gives the salad a different look. It is absolutely wonderful and fun as far as creativity with different vegetables.. I would like to see a stainless steel version of this slicer. It may cost more to make, and sell, but it would reduce the amount of plastics we have in our kitchens. I also love this slicer because I have added more vegetarian recipes to my menu, and it makes life so much easier working with hard root vegetables :-)

I love the spiral cut zucchini and summer squash that I prepared immediately for dinner. My grandchildren loved eating the long strands of vegetables!The product is easy to use. However, I am of the opinion that the pusher should be longer and narrower so that more of the vegetable is pushed through the cylinder. I had approximately two inches from each vegetable that could not be cut. I sliced the uncut portions and cooked them separately.

I thought this would be a great simple little device to make veggie "pasta" from long skinny veggies like zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots. I do not make enough veggie spirals to invest in an expensive and space-consuming spiralizer - it's more of an occasional treat for me, so I thought this would be perfect, especially given the excellent reviews. I now believe those excellent reviews must have come from people who were paid to post a review, or who received this item for free. I found it very hard to use, even on soft veggies like zucchini. The food being sliced must be a certain diameter to really work, it's hard to turn the veggie inside the slicer (I could not get carrots to work at all), and the grippy end which is supposed to make it safe for your fingers was useless, and I ended up nearly slicing my fingers in my attempt to get the lower half of the veggie sliced. If you are in the market for a spiral slicer, skip this device and invest in a real spiralizer!

Really like this! Came in and I quickly had to use it because I had been using a peeler with teeth to make the noodles and while that was working I felt like I could never get the whole veggie in the pot! With this I am able to get so much more out of my veggies. It is easy to use and just as easy to clean. I would recommend this to everyone!
