Laser Level, Meterk Cross Line Laser with Measuring Range 50ft, Switchable Self-Leveling Vertical and Horizontal Line, Rotatable 360 Degree with Flexible Magnetic Base, Battery Included

This has tranformed DIY around the home. I'm currently in stalling a new kitchen, have just installed a new en-suote and will be tiling both of them next week. This one item has saved a HUGE amount of time and has transformed the way that I work. It'se excellent for levelling floor standing units, wall units, pipe work and for locating downlights in three of our bedrooms.The unit is very robust and extremely bright - I have used it in bright sunlight in a white room and the laser remained visible. In darker conditions it is staggeringly bright and produces very clear lines. On my first use I also measured the traditional way and found it to be extremely accurate. From that point on, I used it on its own and it's produced very reliable, accurate results and saved a huge amount of time.This item was recommended to me by a professional tiler and I now highly recommend it myself. Others highly experienced people which I've worked alongside have been amazed at how easy it is to use and how effective the results are.

I work as a professional electrician and took this laser to work recently to test it. Because the mW output is lower than brands like PLS and Makita, this laser is definitely not AS bright in high-ambient-light situations. It also doens't project on the ceiling above, but that's now what its sold as. However, it works phenomenally in scenarios where there isn't much ambient light and you want a projection on a wall. I checked the laser straightness as per the included instructions and it is almost perfect. I would 100% recommend this to someone who needs a laser level for light-duty tasks. It is very high quality and works well.

Reduced to 2 stars from 5. Our first unit (see below) was great.Update -- a year later... we bought a second laser level, even though now that there are more reviews, the rating has gone down. We realized it was taking a chance. NOTE: Also, to get the same functionality as the first unit ( all three settings horiz/vert/and cross), we had to order the more expensive new model. Different configuration. (There are now two levels offered, A and B? Our first level looked like and had the item number of the lower priced one now, but had the functionality of the pricier version.)We have had to return this newer pricier one. It was not level. (And no way to calibrate it.) Over 16feet, it was off 5/16inch. Not useable at all. :( Even over 4feet a visual check against a known level surface was off more than a sixteenth of an inch.A year ago? Review:Bought this laser level for a gift, and checked it out before gifting. Works and is accurate! Nice tidy well-designed packaging, too. We'll have to see if it holds up over time. If so, it's a good value. We have a well-used Stanley, heavier duty and bigger, bought years ago, performs flawlessly. It is bigger and heavier duty than this little unit. This is quite lightweight. But this works! The batteries are easy to remove - just squeeze on two in-built tabs and a whole side piece comes off. My only question was whether the batteries would drain faster. (Our Stanley lasts forever.) Time will tell. And whether the warranty will be upheld.When I went looking for a look-alike, I was dismayed to find that every unit offered, all sorts of brands, had quality problems. Maybe it's because the bad reviews haven't come in yet, but both reviews and inspection give this one 5 stars. I will update if I hear it fails to perform.

This tool is perfect for the indoor projects. I bought it as a gift for a friend who is a craftsman. He now is using it to remodel the ceiling. The light lines are bright enough for indoor. We have not tried outdoors, but I tried in the garage. It is very easy to use and portable. The only thing you need to do is just set up the batteries. Highly recommend.

I haven't had to actualyl hang a picture with it yet (the video is just to illustrate) but its gonna make it so much easier to hang things at just the same height. I love that it wraps the laser around the corner too! It also comes with an attachment so you can outfit a tripod stand for it. If you are like and want it for simple uses around the houses or you are into more serious construction in think this is accurate and has a bright enough laser to meet your needs!

I bought this because it touted being able to "lock" the laser in place. I've never owned one of these things before but because the laser "auto levels" (which it does and is really cool), you can't use it to line things up using a hard reference point. Here's what I mean: say for example you try to line things up across a room, or maybe help orient a face of an object toward a viewer/listener across a room. You could take something like this and "lock" the laser level and then move it around (so it's basically a laser pointer with flat sides) to square itself to the object you are orienting. What if you wanted your TV tilted to be straight on with the viewer? Or turn/tilt a speaker in a stereo system to point directly at your head? You could place this against the face of the TV or speaker and then know exactly where it points and adjust the TV/speaker precisely.The problem is that once you "lock" the laser, the mechanism to do this moves the laser significantly out of alignment. So the laser is no longer level with the body of the leveler itself.I know I'm doing something that not a lot of people would do, but why have it lock when the resulting accuracy of the projected laser is worthless?

I was a little nervous to buy this level, however it turned out to be well worth it! I was concerned the measurements wouldn't be accurate enough for my work, but I double checked the first couple angles I marked out and found it to be very precise. It gets five stars from me.
