Perfect solution when my metal coupling didn’t reach as far as it needed to. This completed the leak seal.

Product is exactly as advertised. Arrived on time and in excellent condition. Ignore the reviews stating that these are not properly sized as the people who write those reviews do not know what they are talking about. The sizing (1-1/4", 1-1/2", etc.) refers to the inside diameter of a pipe, not the outside diameter. Schedule 40 PVC pipe wall thickness adds considerably to the overall diameter of a pipe. These couplings are designed and sized to fit over the outside of PVC pipe, and therefore have an inside diameter that is larger than the sizing indicates. To know what size to order, just look at the information printed on the pipe itself. For example, if you have two sections of 1-1/2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe that you need to join, order the 1-1/2" coupling and you should be good to go.

Cut the existing PVC drain pipe, inserted both ends into the coupling, tightened the screws. Tested and found no leaks. Only needed one coupling, but the price for two was not that much more than one and delivery time was faster for two vs. one. Very happy with this purchase.

Size was perfect for 1 inch pvc schedule 40. Installed underground at outlet side of irrigation system. Was able to replace an 8 foot (broken) section using two boots. Amazon shipping cost may cause us to use an alternate supplier in future.

The idea is to hold to pipe like objects together. Unless they sleeve into themselves these connections dont work. They bend in center therefore the two pipes which are pvc bend. Unless you stabilize THESE too which defeat purpose they dont hold
