This is a GREAT product! First, it really works. It absolutely plugs the tub drain, then easily unplugs to drain. If, like me, you're renting and don't want to deal with yet another landlord dispatched handy man, or if you just want a quick fix to that tub drain that won't quite seal, this is the product for you. It's got it's downsides: it doesn't filter hair or debris, so you do have to pull it out and clean the drain regularly; and, it allows a pool of water to accumulate at the drain, but those are very minor annoyances compared to the joy (and environmental impact) of being able to fully stop the tub. - EMJ

It worked great in the bath tub. Easy to use and easy to clean. The top part pops off for easy cleaning and you could leave it in place while you shower if you pop the top the water will flow down the drain. The suction is secure to keep the water in the tub while bathing. The size is perfect it's not too big or too small.

Not worth it. Doesn't fit any drain in my house. Too big for both my bathroom sink and the shower drains and too small for the kitchen. I'm not sure what drain it would fit, but none in my house. Don't know how it would work if it failed t a drain, but it seems like it would be difficult to get a good seal, even if it fit a drain.

We have 2 bathtubs both with metal plugs that are a pain to use. They both have DIFFERENT opening sizes. This is too small for the one tub. If it's too small, it will just pop out if you try to fill the tub with water. At first, it appeared too big for the other tub, which is a 'standard' bathtub. It isn't... it's an INCREDIBLY tight fit that requires real strength to get in the hole. Definitely not something the typical woman can put in herself. It took my very strong son a few minutes to wiggle and jam into the hole. But if you want it to hold water, it has to be tight (maybe not as tight as it is tho). Once in, it works flawlessly. The water drain area however is small, and the unit does not appear particularly durable. I doubt it will last years. That said, for a few dollars, it doesn't have to. Taking it in and out for cleaning may be a real issue however, so keep that in mind. I'm giving it 4 stars because it does work, and taking into account the low price, I don't regret buying it. The star off is for the questionable durability and small drain opening. Before you buy it, make sure you have someone strong enough to help you get it in (and take it out). Hope this helps!

I bought this because in our rental, the tub where I bathe my 2-year-old came with a stopper that was nearly impossible to seal and she kept accidentally bumping it out of the drain. So I was on the hunt for something that she wouldn't accidentally bump out of the drain. I chose this stopper because of the price and the decent reviews. Pro: This will plug your drain, assuming your drain is standard size. If that is all you're looking for, this will work and is a competitive price. Con: Yes, it is rubber, but because it is recyclable (or recycled?) the rubber isn't very stiff. So when it is in the "up" position (as pictured), it isn't strong enough to stay up if you are running the water, and it won't stay completely straight up if the tub is full, either. It kind of slouches to one side, but it will still drain. If you accidentally pop the top off (which happens easily), it is impossible to get back on while the base is still in the drain. You will have to remove the base to put the top back on. So DO NOT buy this if you are hoping for a plug that you can leave in the drain and open and close at your convenience. All that said, I was contacted by the company shortly after my purchase for a little followup survey. I took the survey (saying some of what I've said here), and the representative emailed me back and said the problems I mentioned happened when they switched to the recycled material. She offered to send me a PVC version free of charge, which I accepted. I used the PVC version and it's much, much better because the rubber is stiff enough to do what it's advertised to do, and the top portion doesn't pop off so easily. If this review were for the PVC version, I would give it 4 stars.

Wasn’t feeling the drain at my apartment so wanted something new. This was so simple that u thought I installed it wrong. An easy pop onto the drain and then another pop on the top to open and it up and boom just what I wanted. Size was perfect, color and quality are great, and most importantly the water flows nicely with draining

We bought this to replace our old grimy plug and it works just as intended. While it doesn't feel like it has a tight seal when it's on the drain, it seems to keep the water in just fine!

It does the job, still leaks very slowly over time but unless you’re in the tub for more than an hour, I don’t see that being an issue for anyone.

Top part broke on first use, does not go back down stays curved up, therefore does not stop water

It works as long as you don't accidently hit the plug...since the suction isn't the best, it easily becomes loose. Besides that, it does it's job.
