Milling Vise 4 Inch with Swivel Base

This is not a true milling vise but works fine on a drill press or workbench. For the money, it is a decent vise and is suitable for most jobs around the shop If you are getting into machining and looking for an actual milling vise, this is not what you need. I have no problem with the quality of the vise, just the description as a milling vise. All in all, it is a pretty decent vise and worth the money unless you are looking for the precision of an actual milling vise. I am happy with my purchase.

I ordered this vice(5") thinking it would be good enough for my needs . but I'm quite impressed with it really I've taken some measurements of it on the mill and its nice and square . the only reason i'm not giving it 5 stars is because like other have reported ,it does have a lot of sharp edges.. I spent maybe an hour on it taking the edges off so as not to cut my hands while handling the vice . but it does close nice and the sliding end of the vice is nice and tight and clamps up square ..the graduations on the swivel base are accurate and well embossed .. I would buy again ..

This is an update to my previous review of the 5 inch vise. After the debacle of dealing with a poorly shipped and broken 5 inch vise, I had the opportunity to reorder. I placed an order for a 4 inch instead. It arrived with no issues and was intact. The vise itself is pretty awesome. It is hefty and does exactly what I need it to for my milling operations. I'm definitely pleased this go-around. If you're looking to upgrade your mill vise, this is definitely one you should check out.

To get the negatives out, the only ones are that on of the washers needed for it was missing (1 of 4) and some of the corners are quite sharp That being said this is a solid purchase. There’s no slop in the jaw, solid cast iron handle for it and on contrary to what some reviews said, the T bolts that came with it fit perfectly for my mill based on what I needed for it. 10/10. The pricing is great too considering something similar from SHARS is 600 bucks or more.

My vice arrived and I mounted to my Clausing 8520 and it fits the size of the mill perfectly. The vice did arrive with less than ideal packing from the manufacturer, I hope that gets addressed, I needed to take a sharpening stone to the bottom to clean up the surface but it cleaned up nicely and no issues as a result. Overall I’m pretty pleased and for the price it seems like a decent hobby vice. I’ll update this review as I use it more.

It’s a decent vice for the vise. There is no line to line up the degree marks on the base so you have no idea what degree you have it set at.

Sadly, the item description doesn't give you the basic dimensions of the vice... Too big for my little mill. Packing was horrible. Hole punched in end of box. Blue metal shards inside turned out to be manufacturing scraps. No damage to vise Bed and jaws are milled very nicely. Wish I had a bigger mill...

Vise is well made but I wouldn’t recommend this. It is virtually impossible to get to zero’d on the x axis using dial Indicators. Too much slop and play in the construction. Wanted to return but was outside of the allowable timeframe. I’ll be using as a boat anchor at this point. Spend the extra money and get a Kurt

This vice is well made, I was surprised at the quality you get for an economical price. I did remove the swivel base so I have more Z axis room on my small milling machine.

Excellent! Costaud et somme toute bien fini pour une importation, pourvu que ça dure ! Faudrait bien que l'on copie.
