This electronic dictionary is an amazing product. In the short few weeks since I bought it, I have used it extensively both in my own studies and to help other students. Since I work as a tutor at a small private college, l wanted a dictionary in a small package that I could easily carry around all day and just put in my pocket. At the same time, l needed a good quality dictionary so I chose the Oxford Concise English edition in the electronic dictionary format. This Seiko product has exceeded all my expectations. It is very convenient and easy to use, and the dictionary has just the right balance of definitions, not too many and not too few. In addition the dictionary has origins or derivations for virtually every word. But even more impressive is that included in the device is a thesaurus and a concise version of the Britannica Encyclopedia, which I have found to be very good and tremendously helpful for my students. Overall this is an excellent product and I would recommend it to anyone.

DO NOT GET THIS ONE!
If You're looking to buy a handheld Encyclopdia and Dictionary, DO NOT get this one. This model from Seiko not only has less dictionary definitiions, it also has less entry's (compared that to of the Sharp handheld E550 OXFORD Dictionary). For example, SHARP's word:"Bumpkin: N. An unsophisticated or socially awkward person from the countryside: She thought Tom a bit of a country bumpkin. -Derritives Bumpkinish -ADJ. -Origin late 16th cent.: perhaps from Dutch boomken 'little tree' or Middle Dutch bommekijn 'little barell' used to denote a dumpy person."and Seiko has:"Bumpkin N. An unsophisticated country person. -Derrivitives -Bumpkinish -Adjective -Origin c16: Perh. from Du. bookmen 'little tree' or MDu. bommekijn 'little barrell', denoting a dumpy person."That's it! As you can see the Seiko's Oxford definitions as it is stated are hard to read and misunderstandingly short as well as the definitions of "Encyclopdia Brittanica" in the which that I looked up, could not comprehend anything! The aaa battery operation and consumption of Seiko is good and easy like that of the Sharp. But as for the whole part, I only use and am gracefull for the Oxford's Sharp E550.

Awesome!
This is the British English version so it has the right words and omits the wrong ones (and it gets the spelling right). It's also extraordinarily versatile, combining dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopaedia and any number of tricks for crossword sufferers as well as a few games. Despite having to be imported from the UK it arrived very fast, long before the earliest expected date. I like it.

Take It With Me Everywhere!
Smart phones may have outdated this, but I haven't bought a smart phone yet. I don't need one. This little puppy is small and light, and answers countless questions. Like any encyclopedia, it tells you things you never imagined. The only problem is that, like any encyclopedia, it gradually becomes dated. The articles could stand to be longer.
